No fossil to ask about, so have a Sudowoodo fact: in Pokemon X & Y you can only find Sudowoodo hiding among a Trevenant horde on Route 20. Zangoose and Seviper can also hide among each other in ORAS, and will even prioritize attacking the odd one out over you.

23:50 I know you've said multiple times about the subject (especially when you were more sick than now, but still) that even when we tell you that it's ok to take the time off, that you still have to work to take care of bills and family and the like. I'm not going to repeat the sentiment, especially given that this time of year is busy and expensive for most if not all of us, but I do sincerely hope you're able to find some time soon to relax without having to worry. You work very hard to make these challenges and everything else for all of us and you absolutely deserve the time. Happy holidays and can't wait to see more of what you do whenever it happens!

It's really nice to see Sudowoodo get some love! I've always been curious about how well it'd do as a main team member, particularly if it "wood" be able to sweep Lance's team or not with Rock Slide (I mean, Sudowoodo is pretty powerful, but it's really slow). I've got three suggestions for future playthroughs: Pokemon Silver with Mass Outbreak Pokemon and their evolutions only (it's okay if you cheat to trigger outbreaks or raise the Pokemon's encounter rate, since I mainly just want to see Pokemon like Granbull and Octillery in action in their debut game) Pokemon Sapphire/Emerald with Fluctuating Experience Curve Pokemon Only (eg: Seviper, Hariyama, Illumise) Pokemon Ruby with Erratic Experience Curve Pokemon Only (eg: Ninjask, Volbeat, Zangoose. It's okay if you cheat to get Feebas, due to how ridiculous it is to find. If you want to cheat to get Huntail or Gorebyss too, I'd actually encourage that, since those two are so underused/underrated)

Thanks for that, I've been watching on and off pretty much since then, and it has kinda become nostalgic. Thanks, you helped me then, and it helps now too. Feels like one of those safe spaces in life, like Skyrim or RoN. Also, your Skyrim challenge is how I got to know about Skyrim, and Skyrim's a really beautiful experience too. Thanks for that too

Mahdrybread YOU ARE A LEGEND. I am currently doing a nuzlocke of pokemon crystal and I caught a drowzee I named MDB because it's your favorite Pokemon and MDB the drowzee saved my run! I challenged Morty and led with my croconaw that had bite, it took out the ghastly and the first haunter. Morty then sent out gengar which I wasn't prepared for. My croconaw got put to sleep by gengar, so then I switched to growlithe because he had bite too but growlithe got out sped and put to sleep and hit by dream eater to land on only 26 health. I switched to Onix the Graveler and he got out sped and put to sleep, I thought this was the end when I remembered Drowzee had hypnosis, it was my only hope so I switched to drowzee, Gangar missed DreamEater and Drowzee out sped Gengar and put it to sleep, saving the run. drowzee disabled hypnosis and gengar stayed asleep and MDB was able to take it out. MDB the Drowzee is the MVP of my nuzlocke run! I love your channel by the way.

When ur doing the farfetched part. If u stand on the right side of him after u get him past that funnel of trees. U can have him run backwards and it makes navigation of that section a bit faster and less time consuming. It takes a lot more time to go all the way around behind it

I always pick up the Sudowodoo in my G/S/C or HeartGold runs. For the pokedex as I always loved to fill it up, have variety and grind up a roster of 6 various type Pokemon but if you don't go against a Grass, Water or Fighting type trainer it's pretty good in battle. The greatest christmas gift would be the maractus only run for that one guy. That would make me smile inside

i would say meganium probably wouldve been the harder starter to deal with since it actually has competent moves, toto only gets water gun for most of the game

Recently started a pokemon ultrasun challenge with Slowpoke replacing the fire starter (giving my rival friend the grass starter). I can already tell this is going to be rough... the first pokemon my rival caught is a pichu 😅.

I've had this challenge idea for a while, but your strategy here is the perfect opportunity to bring it up: Pokémon Red/Blue with only Level-Up Moves. Use any team you want, but no TMs allowed, in the one set of games with the definitively worst average quality level-up movesets. And for a bonus challenge, if desired: don't do any research on who learns what before (or maybe even during) the challenge, current knowledge/recollection only.

Yikes, that last fight was a bit of a wall. The wiggly boy was a solid contender otherwise, though. Sudowoodo will forever be a memorable Pokemon for me after the "fake tree" set piece

Hm. Here's an idea for future challenge runs: Heartgold and or soulsilver version exclusive runs. GS and HGSS are different enough that I think they'd go pretty different from the originals, plus you can probably beat HGSS Red with those

For runs where Red's Venusaur is an issue, why don't you buy the Protect TM at the Celadon Department Store? Sure, he can set up Sunny Day or use Giga Drain (?), but its not like the Generation 2 AI is good enough to do that consistently, so might as well try when you have a move you're not using anymore

Idea for a Pokemon challenge in a Bethesda game: Can you beat Fallout 4 (or 3 or New Vegas) as a Snorlax. Punch all the enemies, eat all the food. And other stuff a Snorlax would do.

Three Run ideas: A Vulpix only run in gen 4 Platinum. Should be possible, even though Berta will most likely brutal! Otherwise Fire is decently strong in gen 4. Being strong against 3 Gym leaders, neutral towards 3 and in disatvantage against the rock and water gym. 3 out of the four Elite 4 should be ok, Cynthia and Berta will be torture. Maybe! An Eevelution run - all allowed, full Team. Gen 4 Platinum should be best for it! For some easy run, should be fun though. Additional rule if you want a more challenging one: limit the numbers or only the kanto Eevelutions! Can you beat Pokemon Crystal as Elite 4 Bruno? I have the feeling this should be easy most of the run. But let's be real: most of the time you sweep him, he should get the chance to proof he is worthy of being an Elite 4!

I would maybe have chosen to replace Totodile instead of Cyndaquil with Meganium as the hardest for mono-Sudowoodo to fight. It’s still SE on Rock and Sudowoodo can’t hit it for weakness without the special punches, but with the advantage of a better physically defensive profile thanks to its stats and Reflect. It also resists Dig/Earthquake, your overall best coverage move.

maybe for future attempts to consider in gsc: if you can't decide between Totodile and Chikorita as rival, pick the Chik. for a lil more challenge around Azalea Town and forward. Razor Leaf would be more challenging than Water Gun. :D to spice up the fights a bit.

In fire red after you beat the elite four, as you know you have that optional quest on the sevii islands to fondnthe ruby and sapphire. After you donthat, you can challenge the elite four again, except they are stronger and have some different pokemon. You should do a fire red challenge where you have to beat the post game elite four!

I have an idea for a fun challenge, One that means you could even use Drowzee. Can you beat Pokemon Black (Or any game from gen's 5 ,6 or 7) with only the move Assist? Purrloin learns Assist at level 6 so it'd be the starter, Then if you get a male Purrloin you can breed it with other's to get more Pokemon. I think this would be a great wacky challenge since the more Pokemon on your team the more random the move is. For any that don't know Assist uses a random move known by any of the user's party Pokémon, With some exceptions. So even Pokemon that can't use Assist would still be useful if they have good moves that Assist can use. Drowzee is in the Human-Like Egg Group so If you want one with Assist you'd need a Spinda since they're in the Field and Human-Like Egg Groups so can breed with Purrloin and Drowzee. You could also use a Chimchar as a starter if you give it Assist as an Egg Move, They're also in the Field and Human-Like Egg Groups so a male one can breed the move into any Pokemon with Assist.
