Nice video...I like how you explain your thought process, and it is nice to see where I see things differently. For example @ 9:16 - If pawn goes f6 (after you take h7), to trap the Knight you'd trade your knight to the rook on f8? I'd say you'd be an extra pawn and half a piece up. Why do you call that situation extremely unfortunate?

Yes that‘s also what confused me a bit, knight takes threatens the rook so he can’t trap it without losing it, wonder if that pawn would’ve made any difference in the end hahaha- also I don’t like sacrifices so I‘d probably just have let go of the pawn there

Never played Levy's bot. However, I have played Danny Rensch's bot a couple of times. Also rated 2500. Of course, it beat me in the first game with the Panov-Botvinnik Attack. In the second game, we played the Neo-Grünfeld Defense: Delayed Exchange Variation. I was able to simplify the position into an endgame where I had an extra pawn on the queenside. I hotfooted my king up the board faster than the bot and made a queen. I won the game. Since my rating is less than 2000, I was completely shocked by this. I have been playing chess since I was 13 or 14. Now 35.

9:30 Why would you not take the free pawn? You are forcing the rook to move next turn so the knight wouldn't be trapped.

I see it as because after knight captures the h7 pawn, the knight can't move to g5 if the rook decided to go to g8. And the knight can't move back to the f6 square because it would then be captured by the black knight that is standing on the d7 square

6:00 I think GothamBot should have gone Bishop h3 for a free rook. Since if queen takes on g2, bishop takes on g2 and the rook is hanging. And if queen takes the bishop on h3 you get a free rook. Edit: If queen takes the bishop on h3 and you take rook on h1 with queen its M1 for white so nvm dont push with bishop XD

am i missing something on 9:16 that was super clear to me to take the pawn on h7 because the king wouldn’t have been able to take back due to your bishop on d3. therefore if the the pawn on f7 pushed, you would’ve had a free rook. idk though, im only an 850 but that seemed clear to me🤷🏽‍♂️

Yeah so she cut a bit there for some reason, but basically starting from when she moves the king after discussing the potential knight pin right before that rook check the moves go 1. Kb4 Rb2 2. Ka5 Rxb5 3. Kxb5 Rc2 4. Kb4 Kf4 The cut happens at Rb2 and cuts back to the move Kb4.
