Completely disagree on your "no more than 400 IUs of Vitamin D" Most Americans are vitamin D deficient.

Exactly, just like most Dr employed by the FDA giving out partial information about nutrition. MD's receive less than (1) week of education on nutrition, so they are not knowledgeable on the topic unless you are Dr. Nicholas Perricone, MD, who is an avid nutritionist in his laboratory work and practice as a world-renowned Dermatologist and lecturer on Nutrition. My research in Houston included a quote from an MD on the front lines in the Emergency Room at one of our largest hospitals and she gave her own personal breakdown on what she was doing to protect herself: (5) Grams (5000mg) of Vitamin C, 5000 I.U of Vitamin D3, 650mg N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC), 1000mg L-Lysine, 1-2 Grams L-Glutamine and 500-1000mg of Elderberry. I got a big smile when she realized that was almost verbatim of our daily nutrition regiment and we have not been sick in over 5 years. We take a lot of nutrients based on my 25+ years of research by authors such as Dr. Lester Packer, Phd, Dr. Linus Pauling, Dr Vincent Giampapa, MD, Dr Robert C Atkins, MD, Dr Nicholas Perricone, Dr Peter H Proctor, MD, Dr Jason Fung, MD and others. In medicine today, we have two paths to go down (A Tale Of Two Cities) the FDA Pharmaceutical adventure which is a conflict of interest and a more contemporary approach which includes Nutrients and FDA Medications. The problem exists with the FDA sending the Fox to guard the Hen House. The FDA discourages the use of nutrients. They certainly wouldn't want it to get out that people were curing themselves of some diseases without their medications. Besides the FDA has done it's damage over the years by allowing too many prescriptions for anti-biotics to be prescribed thus damaging the gut flora and compromising immune systems. We simply have to use both in modern medicine and it's up to individuals to start being their own doctors, because we have a broken medical system. We must maintain our immune systems and not allow the FDA to decide who gets to live or die based on medical insurance. We simply can't afford this type of stupidity anymore. Dr Risinger's advice about Vitamin D3 has no credibility. This video was not well planned unfortunately. Her video about an easy way to determine if you have Covid-19 was very thorough.

She reads one study on each of these supplements and bases her opinion on the 1 study. 400 iu of vitamin d is way too low for most people because most people get less and less sunlight and have vitamin d deficiency and 400 iu does little for vitamin d deficiency. At least she is promoting vitamin D and zinc

@Idylchatter The virus targets the ACE2 protein, which is attached to type 2 Alveoli [air exchanging sacs] . Those type two Alveoli die as the virus replicates. As the cells die the lungs fill with fluids and cell debris. The body starts HUGE immune inflammatory (cytokine storms). It's this huge immune response that gets your lungs in trouble. Fluid and puss goes into the lungs avoli. This is known as pneumonia. kzbin.info/www/bejne/anuTlWhvmclgp68 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Claim that SARS-CoV-2 binds to hemoglobin in red blood cells is unsupported and implausible. The of SARS-CoV-2 claim directly contradicts clinical findings in COVID-19 patients, in whom no abnormal form of hemoglobin has been detected, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and pneumonia have been commonly observed. No scientific evidence demonstrates that SARS-CoV-2 can enter red blood cells. The claim that the virus binds to hemoglobin is based on the conclusions of a single pre-print study, which solely involved computational analysis and did not undergo experimental verification or peer-review. About 15 years ago, at 21, I suddenly started to feel unwell with aches on my lower extremities, fever and a little bit of headache. But it was the really high body temperature that brought me to my knees. Anyway, after trying very hard to have milk and a few biscuits, followed by paracetamol, I was advised by a korean to take a quick hot shower and end it with a cold one. After toweling myself dry and getting dressed as fast as I could, (the ache has by then creeped to my upper body and bed was really calling) to bed i hopped covered by a thick blanket. I sweated like crazy as I slept and woke up the next day like nothing happened. I think contrast shower really does help alleviate a fever. However, it is important to remember that you must not allow yourself to be exposed to the wind after the said shower. Also, listen to your body. If it's telling you it can't handle it, don't push it.

How can a person with autoimmune on methotrexate (which suppresses immune system) build up immune system? What are we supposed to do?
@colorfulforesight2 жыл бұрын
People who talk about bulking immunity, absolutely! Yet keep in mind during the Spanish pandemic in 1918 where 50 millions people...95% lived on farms, had fresh air and organic foods, & espztensive knowledges on herbs...they still died. The same goes the indigenous people who died when explorers came in. They had advanced knowledge of herbs, good foods and etc. Yet still died. Sometime you need both holistic and modern medicine.

good job--I am not a doctor but I believe changing the temp on shower will change blood pressure severly and could result in a heart attack for most out of shape people. If you feel weak then your immune system is weak as well .. weird example is two soldiers are walking in snow and one is shot but does not die .. guess which one will catch cold next few days. healthy one or weaker one. eat well and stay in shape and sleep well and have a healthy mind.

The National Institute of Health spent $2.4 billion studying vitamins and supplements only to find out they really don’t work and actually are harming people. Isolated vitamins, that are in multivitamins, are missing important substances that naturally occur in fruits and vegetables, called phytochemical. There are tens of thousands phytochemicals in one fruit or veggie and our bodies need them to process the vitamins effectively. Fact: Half of an apple has the antioxidant activity of 1,500 milligrams of vitamin C, even though it contains only 5.7 milligrams of the vitamin. That’s because the phytochemicals that surround vitamin C in apples enhance its effect. Good vine ripened whole food is best. It's just not easy with our life styles to maintain a healthy supply in our homes. There are wholefood fruit and veggie supplements... which are condensed whole foods that can be taken the same way as the artificial vitamins. A good quality whole food supplement that contains various fruits and veggies is best because they include all the other tens of thousands phytochemicals, that the average, multi-vitamin is missing. I buy mine from JuicePlus+ at Kimberlypost.juiceplus.com. Also here are a couple of the many studies on I'll effects of multivitamins. *****A 1996 study in Seattle of 18,000 people showed that people exposed to asbestos who were taking megavitamins with large doses of vitamin A and beta-carotene were 28 percent more at risk of developing lung cancer and 17 percent more at risk for developing heart disease. *****A 2004 study in Copenhagen conducted 14 randomized trials with 170,000 people and discovered that those taking large amounts of vitamins A, C, E, and beta-carotene were more likely to develop intestinal cancer. *****Fruits and vegetables contain many other ingredients that boost the efficacy of vitamins. www.google.com/amp/s/bigthink.com/24-billion-later-vitamins-and-supplements-appear-to-have-no-value.amp.html

The average "healthy" American requires way more than 400 IU of D, unless they get at least 20 minutes a day of full body exposure to midday sun with NO sunscreen. If instead you do take 2000 or more IU of D (as you probably should) It's wise to take Vitamin K2 to make sure it gets where it needs to.

I would not suggest cold showers after you’ve travelled or if you live in an area where the risk is more because without proper practice, cold showers can reduce the body heat that is essential for the immune system to fight the foreign bodies. I must say, I took a cold shower after traveling last month and it affected my immunity, even though I don’t have pre-existing medical condition. I got a sore throat which really freaked me out and made me anxious until I was well again. So, I’d say not to take cold baths until there’s a vaccine for the virus.

Year-round office jobs and slathered sunscreen on weekends have made it harder for the average person to get enough sunlight (UV) to make normal amounts of Vitamin D. Food doesn't have that much D but a basic multivitamin has 1000 units. I read that this is enough for healthy maintenance. Interestingly, another KZbin doctor asserted that north of middle America (37 degrees north), the sun is too weak in the winter months to make any Vitamin D no matter how much time you are exposed.
