Can I catch a mighty BARBEL from the historic Hampshire Avon? (Watch till the end 😉)

In the episode I head to the famous Royalty stretch of the Hampshire Avon. I have challenged myself to use just one set of equipment to target a variety of coarse and saltwater species during 2024. Can I catch one of the famous Royalty Barbel with my limited, stripped back kit?

Very enjoyable video mate. Thoroughly watchable without all of the constant tackle company plugs. Fantastic conditions over the xmas period so well done in taking full advantage of them.Not been down the royalty for years and the rod room has certainly improved. Even though im now disabled I must get down and have a brew with Nigel and bend his ear.I'm sure there is a swim or two I could hobble too and spend a day on the lovely fishery. Look forward to the next episode.

Thanks for the kind comments Neil. There are some really good area right next to the car park with good access. Just speak with Dan the river keeper when you get there and he will help you get to a good swim.

Cracking effort that mate. Catch decent chub on every visit to throop in last couple years but yet to find a barbel. Perhaps I need to give the royalty a try!

I was happy with the chub, but really wanted that Barbel and last cast got the chance. Well happy with it mate. Lovely stretch.
