Spore was a massive disappointment all over. Doesn't matter what part you specifically dislike, it's still a complete shell of what had been shown on E3 back in the day. As such, while you can have a lot of fun in Creature stage, it utterly sucks and is a joke.
@Nikotin-lu1xo3 жыл бұрын
@@Zeithri yeah, you can look up the prototype of spore, and it seems like they planned for the game to be much more i wonder if they were forced to release the game in this state due to budget costs or such if that's the case, then that was crime against humanity from EA

@@Nikotin-lu1xo I know. I WAS THERE. I WAS THERE WHEN THE STRENGTH OF MEN FELL. In other words we watched E3 at school and we were all completely taken aback and amazed by Spore's presentation, and the comedy parts from the late Robin Williams. We read articles about how Spore was gonna be used in school for education purposes. It seemed like it'd be Maxis' magnus opus. And then EA happened. Specifically they wanted to dumb it down so it'd be approachable for kids.. And it became Maxis' disappointing swansong, and the fantastic Will Wright quit gaming. Honestly, a completely black screen with certain "tells" depending on what's around you provided by your other senses would be cool. Black screen, but footsteps can be detected with ears or sensitive little hairs on your body that're on the ground so you can sense the vibrations. Or being able to smell what's around you. Much more limited idea of what's around you, just outlines, based on if you have stuff like whiskers or similar that "feel" around you, that kind of thing.

The best playthrough I ever had of Spore, I made my species into a race of animated Twinkies. Our bodies were reduced to the minimum size, and we only had a single eye above a plain mouth. We eventually arose to become a galactic empire, dropping bombs with enough force to level entire cities in one blow, and driving countless species into extinction, storing the last remnants of their doomed species aboard my flagship to launch into orbit at my leisure. It was a good time all 'round.

Hey AA, long time watcher, first time commenter I have a small complaint, it feels like recently in your videos you've taken an approach of reading a loose script over pre-recorded footage. Whilst this is very nice to listen to in the background, I do miss the style of video where you would narrate gameplay as it happened, first reactions and all. I feel this video missed a trick, there were times I wondered "Why has he changed to herbivore from omnivore?" "What was AA's reaction to growing a brain, maybe he will have a quip?" etc, etc. These quips never came and I was disappointed. I feel that may be to do with the fact you were trying to tell a story as opposed to enjoying the ride with us. Show don't tell and all that jazz I will continue to watch your videos... 2:45 You basically just described O&M instruction. When I was educated in sighted-guide, one of the tests was to cross a street blindfolded, then successfully make my way into a restaurant. They wanted to make sure I had at least a grasp on a blind person's early steps. I did the same as you, trained my senses to be able to detect by touch and committing the placement of things to a longer memory, and I actually passed the mini-exam with no issues. I was perfectly able to listen out for traffic and people, while finding an edge to follow with my fingertips. Even the blind friend I was doing it for was impressed. Keep doing what you do, the one common theme I've noticed about many disabled people is that they are bothered by those without issues, who take their abilities for granted. You are properly appreciating your vision, that's all many blind people would ask of you.

I went back to this game as it's my own time favorite and as I was evolving I put years on my creature and suddenly I could hear everything too. So I went back and took them off and realized how dull the world sounded. If you have a good pair of headphones you can just navigate the world just your ears alone and the more you have the better the animals hearing is I think it's one set can earn you enough for a certain amount of radius. Well two sets can make you here over the hill for example.
