funny how australians either fight miniscule 150g robots or massive 30lb feathers

I love how you explain concepts like the forks angle being designed to place the opponent at the perfect angle for the spinner to hit. This is a concept that seems so obvious after you explain it, but I had never really considered it until your video. You need more views/subs... algorithm algorithm?

The robot is looking is looking awesome James! Good luck for the event! Hope they stream the fights somewhere...

Unfortunately they don't stream as it's a paid spectator event, but I'm sure you can watch the footage later on

I was wondering whether or not you had a horizontal config. Good to see that you do. That shot of the mixture in the vacuum chamber was crazy cool! I'm so excited to see it fight!

I've only just found your channel this week. Your bots on a other level, I don't know how you managed to cram so much into your 150g bots!

Just had a thought if you guys have a non-destructive event/class. You could make a 150g Claw Viper
@BrokenLinkRobotics Жыл бұрын
@chrishorne1795 basically did the claw viper thing, but with much larger jaws. It's called Sketch I think I showed a little footage at some point.

I absolutely love Derive, so fun to watch :D I am building something similar in the beetleweight class, and was curious to know what channels you use on your transmitter to control the weapons independently?
@BrokenLinkRobotics3 ай бұрын
The drivetrain is the usual arcade mixing. Lifter is the left hand up/down stick (throttle), while the spinner was controlled with a potentiometer and on/off switch
@FreyFox873 ай бұрын
@@BrokenLinkRobotics I've done it the other way round with mine, since the lifter is a servo, but I think swapping it round would work too :) thanks

could some one please tell me what software do these battle bot creators use to make prototypes of there battle bots

@SHADOWKNIGHT2444 I use the CAD software Fusion 360, one can get a hobby license for free. Onshape and Solid works are also good options

What type of drivetrain is this? I can see it uses tank drive (or a form of it), but it seems way more maneuvarable and responsive than a normal one. Is this just because of the faster speed, or does the code automatically adjust its heading to be relative to where the joystick is pointing, with forward on the joystick always forward relative to the bots starting position, kind of like field centric?
@BrokenLinkRobotics Жыл бұрын
@goblin no smarts just 4wd standard tank drive. The drivetrain is wider than long so it steers better than average. Motors are also very powerful with grippy tires
