There’s a lot of exceptions with dark ceilings. It depends on the property and the light. You get a good balance and it works. I wouldn’t paint a modern ceiling black, but I’d paint the ceiling of a Georgian or arts and crafts property dark with no concerns.

As for the colored ceilings: Mine is! Two walls are dark purple, the other two a lavender, and my ceiling is also the light lavender color! I don't think i could go for a dark ceiling though.

I think I’d be okay with colored ceilings if I did like you and had different colors on the walls and ceiling, but I will say having all four walls and the ceiling as the same color is a horrible idea. My sister did that when we first moved into our current home and that room was pure torture to be in, it made it so claustrophobic in there.

There’s a mod called “stay over at...” it will most likely come up if you google it.. it’s for children/ toddlers and teens but it’s a rabbit hole mod so you canny play the sims whilst they’re away

About painting the ceeling: I have painted mine in my bedroom like a galaxy and when I have time and energy for it I always put a spaceship on it. At the Moment there is the Tardis, the Enterprise, the Voiager and a Deathstar.

Painted ceilings are really cool! I don’t like when you paint the whole ceiling, but parts on walls that overflow in the ceiling are really cool. With that technic you can create beautiful corners in you’re house 🏡: )

Okay, so I love the “aesthetic” of a painted ceiling but honestly these trends come and go so fast that I couldn’t justify it. I, last week, painted ALL the ceilings in a home my boyfriend and I are renovating to move into and it’s NOT EASY. I hated every minute of it and would hate to have to do it again in a few years because I was tired of the color. It’s beautiful, but it’s not my cup of tea.

I am trying to convince my husband that painting our bedroom walls an ombré blue (light at the bottom to dark at the top) with a navy ceiling (and glow in the dark stars because I can’t afford to wire constellation pin lights) is an excellent idea. It’s kinda expensive, terribly impractical for resale and thus not going to happen. But I prefer living spaces to have light ceilings.

I've only seen dark ceilings work when there are especially high walls - so think the equivalent of tall walls in game - so essentially creating the illusion of a more standard wall height and trying to make it more cozy.

When I was a teenager (2007) my room was red themed. I had a red comforter set and my mom and I painted the ceiling red as my accent wall, the walls were white, and just the ceiling was red and it was really cool and liked it a lot. It would also always get comments from anyone who came in my room since its different to have the ceiling painted as the accent wall, not an actual wall. I wouldn't paint the WALLS and CEILING. just one or the other. Love your videos and watch you every day while I work from home.
