You learned me something new…I never thought to forge the handle after cutting it like that! Looks good brotha! 🔪❤️

Yea it works nicely when everything is welded well. I wouldnt recommend it on copper layered knives though.

Thats the coolest fish hook pattern I've ever seen. Nice smithing work on the tang, I was wondering what you were doing.
@JPsBladeworks Жыл бұрын
Ive seen it done on videos online where they cut it like that and forge out the tang. Thought id give it a try.

Where can you buy a press like yours
@JPsBladeworks Жыл бұрын
I made my press. There are companies out there that make great presses. Check out coal iron forge they have some nice ones.

Great looking knife 👍 But I didn't see if you made a vent hole in the canister before heating it. Especially when sealing the can under pressure the way you did. I would hate to see it pop on you in the press. Safety first.
@JPsBladeworks Жыл бұрын
I dont tend to do the vent hole. I just leave a small area of the lid unwelded and that tends to let the gases out.

Looks great! Sweet patern! Just a question, do ya think ya may have left the tang a bit skinny? I cant tell on video how wide it is. Just wondering
@JPsBladeworks Жыл бұрын
I agree. Once you grind it off there is no putting it back on. Its under an 1/8 thick im pretty sure. Hopefully its enough. As long as i dont do too heavy chopping with it.
@user-ko3vg7fc7o Жыл бұрын
@@JPsBladeworks you could always weld more on. The tang doesnt need to be hard
