What if it is the opposite? What if I was collecting SDI for a year and when it ran up the pandemic had hit and I needed to apply for unemployment but my technical last employer is with disability? I've literally searched EVERYWHERE and I seem to be the only person with this issue in the world. Literally my disability ran up on Feb 2, 2020. I have been approved for unemployment but I applied late like in July cuz I didn't know I could do so but I wasn't given back pay even tho my claim stated I hadn't been paid since Feb 2. It's now time for me to reopen my claim and I want to make sure I fill it in correctly. Please help meeee. And yes I am in CA.

Unmployment is giving extra $ for the pandemic and I am unable to apply because I am waiting on the disability judges decision on my case. Meanwhile, I am broke.

You should be able to file a new claim, but it depends if your claim is private disability insurance or ssdi?

If you apply for unemployment then you are telling the insurance company that you can work but there are no jobs available. You need to be careful applying for unemployment as it could destroy your claim for disability benefits.

Joe, I think the max you can work and collect while on SSDI is $1,200.
