It's not only significant others that don't want to give you straightforward answers. _Parents_ can also be vague when it comes to simple questions. For example, I asked my 72-year-old mom what restaurant she would like to go to for her birthday, and the only answer I got was "NOT Olive Garden because they put garlic in everything." (her stomach & toilet don't it like it when she eats garlic) Gift shopping is also difficult too.

😂 yep. That food question with my woman. The conversation gets funny. I broke the code. What ever I want to eat is not going to be what she wants. So I know all the places she doesn't want to eat or ever. She asks the question. I say three choices she says "naw I doing want any of that. HOW ABOUT...." I'm thinking "dude, was you just wanting me to believe I have a choice when you fire out that place you want.". I wonder if women unknowingly do this. Maybe it takes us saying something for them to deny as it help them think about what they really want. What's funnier than that is when she said "you always say those three places". I laughed because I been preparing for that answer to say "well you asked me the same questions on food and i tried to give you the choice first to give an answer first. That doesn't work. Then I gave all the places I actually really want. You shoot them down and I'm sad. Then I give you three choices you hate. SUDDENLY that computer brain of yours can magically be decisive." She looked at me with a go to hell look. I said "however all this time I been building a list of places you chosen the most and while we been talking i been driving to one." She got happy.
