Awesome! one question : Have you tried Serato studio and serato sample ? feels like is are missing from your videos adventures :)

I have been tempted to try out both but haven't got round to it. I was close to buying Serato Sample in the black friday sales but didn't in the end as I knew it'd probably take me a while to get round to using it!

I got bored, it’s a VST to get ideas down, export to your DAW and arrange in there! Swing swing swing!

WEIRD, I really didn't struggle learning this plugin. I think for the price it's a useful creative tool.

It's a great tool, no denying it and I know loads of people who love it - just for me I didn't get on with it

I felt the same way put off using it after purchase. And it is worthless to me . I doesnt export correctly .

Really looking forwards to seeing if Richie can make, or at least start one of his signature banging club track using the captain plugins and also to seeing his workflow as well as what additional processing might be needed when parts are exported out of the captains and into ableton. Superb learning opportunity watching this!

OMG! At least watch a tutorial before you start...🤦♂️ I have been using the captain plugins for some time now, this was really hard to watch. You really have to put in some time and effort. Then it becomes a really powerfull writing tool.

Haha maybe you’re right but I like just diving in and seeing what stuff can do by using it. This video was never about a review or walkthrough, it’s just me playing around with it and I said that from the outset.

I guess you need some more time to get around with this. Watch some tutorials of others if that might helps.

Nice video. Can you tell me how many patterns do you have in captain beat? :)

Honestly no idea, probably best to check their website but I’m guessing they’re updated with every release

With the greatest of respect, I'm sure Mixed in Key started the Captain Suite as a wonderful and exciting project. It certainly got my attention as a potential plug-and-play solution. Capt chords have some great chord progression potential; but the combination of only offering video tutorials with heavy accents, no manual, and an incoherent user guide, with a total lack of support, was, as they say, the Epic kiss of death ( IMHO people won't buy -what they don't understand= what a cluster). My guess is they ran out of contingent capital and/or the investors pulled the plug before the engineers could finish refining the Odesi vision.No offense intended whatsoever, but the unspoken lack of transparency on DAW compatibility may also contribute to part of my point of view; which is partially my fault.

No offence taken here, it's not my product and I can understand your points. To be quite honest I've found a combination of Scaler 2, Riffer and a couple of other plugins work best for my workflow when it comes to writing melodies. I like the idea of what they've tried to do with the Captain plugins but I found them more constricting than inspiring which is why I tend to use these other plugins now.

Maybe use a litte time to explorer the plugins before making a “review”
@DirtySecretz3 жыл бұрын
That's why this isn't a review video, I'm purely just playing around with it

Painful to watch. The equivalent of me opening up a new DAW I'd never used before and then pressing random buttons.

I quite literally mentioned in the first couple of minutes this isn't a review video, I'm just testing it out - what were you expecting?
