Wow, this is quite a feat. 48 hours could be spread out into six 8-hour work days, which would turn into about 1 minute of final product per work day. With a team of 5, you could theoretically make a stiff, goofy, but entertaining animated feature film in 18 days. Add 1 week for concept development and an extra week for editorial, and that's an Asylum production. Nice job with doing the action, it worked! If you pre-rigged the characters so you could stream Xsens or Rokoko (even have someone perform remotely and pipe over IP to your computer) and just record the raw data into the project (you could then hand off the raw data for retargeting/processing while you continue working on other elements), you could create action really quickly that way too. This is a hell of a precedent. Congrats.

No, I used public assets that were made by either a corporation that uses models and very little variation, or underpays their staff to work 50 cents an hour. Each rig plus animation would have taken over 36 hours! THAT IS 50 cents an hour while talking about SIMPLE HUMANOID RIGGS.
@landonp629
@landonp629 4 жыл бұрын
@@sparkylongtail309 You don't seem to understand how stock assets work. Many people, sometimes thousands, buy the same asset. It might not seem like much when you can buy a character for $5, but when you sell 1,000 of them that character has earned $5,000. $5,000 / 36 hours is $138/Hr... Not too shabby. Even if it sells half that number, it's still over $70 per labor hour. You seriously don't think people are spending a week creating a model just to sell it for a one time fee of $5-$20 do you? That's simply not how it works.

The work put into those animations are why I like Warhammer 40k (I mean hell, my profile pic is an Adeptus Mechanicus lol), are why I'm so into the warhammer fanbase. Chevifier With a limited allocation of resources(time and money), you have to make some cuts. This is an extreme case where there is literally only two days to make a complete animation. Many things are reused and slightly modified in polish to fool you as to look unique. You may have noticed many sound effects even in Hollywood movies are using same assets.

It pains me that, even though he is wearing a Stranger Things t-shirt, he still doesn’t call it a demogorgon 😂 But whatever, slug monster sounds epic

about 10 years ago i was attending a 3D modelling & animation school. I was there for about 2 years (before dropping out), and in all that time i made 2 short 30 second clips. The school held several workshops that mostly did not amount to anything, they really could have used this for inspiration. This just goes to show how much of a timewaste some schools can be.

You should remake this and make it a full-length short film and this time give yourself a couple weeks to make it an actual film. You know, since you already invested the movie.
