@@aprizuniverse I cannot speak for animation or movies, but I can say that when you first start anything, you will suck. There is no getting around it. If you continue to be mediocre over multiple projects, scale them down into more manageable ones. I am aspiring to be a game developer some day, and it kills me that I have yet to make the games I have been wanting to make since I was a kid. But it takes time. I know you probably weren't expecting an essay on your random KZbin comment, but either way, have a nice day and I hope you figure it out.

the thing is, there are a lot of 3d animated films out there that have been criticized for being quick and cheap. but those are made by like, teams of people, specifically for turning out more money than they put in. you're one guy with a mocap suit and a dream. considering how you approached the book release, i know you're not really in it for money, so "cheap" turns from an insult into just practical usage of finite resources. this project is the definition of the accessibility that animation has been working towards for years. in my eyes you're already blowing it out of the water.
@josiahkendall4492
@josiahkendall4492 10 ай бұрын
Quick and cheap don't necessarily make a thing bad. It is just that those qualities often accompany works generally considered bad art. Although how one can even define "bad" is a mystery to me. I prefer to scale things on how much I like them and leave it at that.
@robkies
@robkies 5 ай бұрын
no, not at all. there are cheap movies out there that are really well made with little to no budget. barber winchester was made a small team and was shadow dropped on youtube with only 61k views, still a very well made, polished and underrated movie shrek retold currently has 10 million views on youtube, it had no budget you dont need money to make something good nowadays, you can find all sorts of art programs for free that get the job more than done. this movie is a bad example with what you can do these days with the tools we have

I seriously hope he's taking as much rest as he needs; Just a tenth of the work he's shown himself having done throughout this video is enough to break someone, probably burn them out for a year or more, somehow he's still here and STILL ACTIVELY CHOOSING to keep working on it! (it's not like I think that's an entirely bad idea but more like I feel like he's MORE than "earned" rest) REST IS A NEED NOT A LUXURY. I’m not an expert on this topic and I know it’s unfinished, but I think one of the most important things to focus on with the animation is the lighting. I’ve played video games that have great 3D models but the lighting is bad so they don’t look good, and there’s some other games where the models are just okay but the lighting manages to make them look pretty good. I’m excited to see how this turns out, though. Your project is really ambitious and cool.

AUSTIN: Hmmm, it would be kind of fun to make an animated movie about an old public domain super hero... EVERYONE: That sounds kind of diffi-- AUSTIN: Imma do it! Props to you, bro. So many people fantasize about actually creating this type of thing, but so few people actually see it through. Good luck and keep up the awesome content!

From what we see of the movie here, I can tell I am going to love the performance of Atlas (the god, not Jim). He says all his lines in an over the top way that is just so endearing. Just the way he says "evil" is awesome.

I first subscribed to this channel god knows how many years ago because it wasn't a constant stream of the same thing. I like the randomness of it. It was here that I first learned about Centralia Pennsylvania. Most of the channels with less than 1000 subs that you pimped are some of my favorites. I'm not a huge comic book fan but I've been following your recent efforts because the process is fascinating. Keep doing what you're doing, Austin. But I would love more channel recommendations when you have the time.

This is an amazing undertaking and I'm much impressed. As a small aside - the Greek god Atlas in that story sounds like historic celebrity body-builder Charles Atlas (who for many of us is just a line in a Rocky Horror song).
