You are doing amazing! Congratulations! I started my channel back up in September 2023 and I'm just now hitting 428 subscribers. It's been a long tough road. I will say I have learned a lot with making videos, editing, posting, analytics and SEO. My goal was to get to a thousand subscribers by the end of this year, but sooner would be better as I just lost my job on April 30th due to the company closing. I worked at home. No one wants to hire a 59-year-old woman. I just keep getting no's. I have wanted to quit my KZbin channel so many times and I am struggling right now, but you give me the inspiration to keep going and pushing through. I hope you meet your goal, but I'm sure you'll have no problem! ❤

Thank you so much for this. I recently became a widower. I not only lost the love of my life, I “lost” where we lived and any income, as I spent the last 12 years being spoiled by my amazing husband. I quit my job at a title company and became a “housewife/stay at home Nana the nanny, watching my granddaughter. I have been contemplating where I go as far as income. Although it has been something I’ve wanted to do for years, I decided to see what becoming a KZbinr + other platforms, was all about, start educating myself to do KZbin and KZbin shorts …thinking maybe with my tumbler making or eBay journey…tracking it as I go…or maybe about it all….starting over and figuring it all out. I was having so much doubt about showing my older face and could I do this. You just popped up on my page….I had to comment and say thank you so much!!! I hope you don’t mind if I reach out later when I actually do it so I can mention your channel…for giving me the confidence and inspiring me to just keep going.

Only around 6% of people who create a channel will get monetized was something I read recently. You should be incredibly proud of yourself, and to do it so quickly! Stumbled upon your channel this evening. I'm 50 and have dabbled in YT for a little over a year, trying to find MY niche. I found something that I enjoy and have been plugging away consistently posting videos weekly now for about 3 weeks. I see small gains here and there and try to make improvements as I go as well. While I do not expect the same boom you had with the video that took you past the monetization finish line so to speak ("That video ate" as my teens would say. It's a good thing, look it up. LOL ), I do look forward to steady growth and hope for monetization before that year mark passes. I appreciate you taking the time to post this series and giving those tips. My thoughts on why last week resonated; your expertise in living alone and coping with the issues involved in living alone is needed by those who find themselves alone after years of being with a partner or contemplating being alone soon. My brother recently lost his live-in partner of over 20 years and he is constantly calling wanting to know how to do basic household things that I take for granted but now realize that he doesn't know how to take care of because he's never had to do it on his own.

Hi Jen, I feel like we are becoming fast friends through your videos because we seem to relate in so many areas. I first found your channel earlier in the year when it dawned on me that I'm getting closer to retirement age. Yes, I'm getting closer to the age but never seriously considered actually retiring because of my single income status. So I too have started planning for my retirement fun money and am at the initial stage of researching and planning to start a YT channel. Hence the reason that YT suggested your channel to me based on my searches the past two days. Not about being 50+ or solo, but about starting a YT channel. From there I have binged watched this series tonight. So I would encourage you to keep doing the vlog type posts on all that you are learning in this journey. Maybe just highlight the statistics once a month now, but keep showing us what you are learning to make the videos and the content better. For example, you did not tell us about how you were experimenting with the gimbal in your walk into and out of the scene shots but I loved it, and I could see the growth. So just keep being you, and we will be drawn back to your channel for the content. Goooooo you!

You could be earning more by posting those affiliate links on each of the 10 videos. Affiliate program details are usually at the very bottom of the website homepage. I didn't notice if you are using hashtags. Those can increase views and the only other thing I thought of while watching your videos is that you didn't mention whether you shared your videos on your social media profiles. I spend alot of time watching KZbin and not following through. But honestly other than those 2 things I wouldn't have done anything different. I also appreciate the no hype approach that you have.

Yay! Perseverance pays off. Some of the things I like about your videos - they are a good length, you keep things moving by switching from outside Jen to office Jen, you keep adding visual interest (different transitions), interesting and helpful content, and of course, your doggie. I always watch to the very end to see your darling dog and the beautiful scenery where you live.
