I might've been able to go 6/8 on regions (having done plenty of gen V ROM hacks this year) but I was laser-focusing on the Isle of Armor for the last Galar one and would not have pulled Aquacorde if you held a gun to my head.

I play a lot of Pokemon. Do runs in every gen up to gen 7 (don't have a switch). But as a kid I only played the first 2 gens, and a bit of gen 3 on emulator in highschool. I was an adult when I started playing other gens. That really makes a difference. Earlier gens my kid brain memorized every detail, can name every city without having to think about it. After that I really have to map out the region and visualize going through it step by step in my mind just to remember half of them 😅

Floccesy Ranch is rough. Having never played an actual pokemon game til last year but watching a LOT of nuzlocke videos, I genuinely thought it was Flock-a-See ranch until like 4 months ago… and being a ranch with sheep and herding dog pokemon, I literally never questioned it lol. Honestly, that STILL makes more sense to me. You did way better than I could have!

I mean, the way cities work is that they typically get their pronunciation sort of 'condensed' over time depending on accent. So, your (and my) pronunciation of Hearthome city might eventually be correct!

"Fuchsia" comes from the German word for a fox (the "Fuchs"). It is spelled like "Fooksia" ("oo" like in the word "look"). Welcome guys :)

"Fuchsia" is just a shade of purple. Since the Gen 1 towns are mostly names after colours, I think a city names after an animal wouldn't make any sense at all lol.

This makes me appreciate the Galar names more. They feel like real names. Why would you have something called “Verdanturf Town” when “Verdanturf” is a much more realistic name of a town
