@@EdChapman23 Hi, so hate to be the barer of bad news. So the purple lights you saw first is a Microalgea greenhouse which lights the sky purple. The second light you point to is most likely the bloom from the runway lights at the airport. When you see a Northern light you will know, they are much more dynamic and dance in the sky, so you will see variance in intensity :)

I was lucky enough to witness the northern lights high up in the Norwegian Arctic Circle. They were so bright and vivid it was almost blinding. I’ve tried to explain it to people just how beautiful it was but I could never truly describe it. Great video!

I see them regularly in Inverness, even better chance seeing them in Wick, Thurso in Far North or Orkney or Shetland, right here in the UK (easyJet fly to Inverness from Gatwick, Luton and Bristol)

You can see them from the Isle of Man too . My friend and I have been looking with our partners for years now with no luck. Even if we go to areas with no street lights . He recently went to Finland right up in the arctic circle . When he got back I was like well did you see them? Him … NO!😭😭😂

Walking around the industrial estates was a bit iffy, LOL, but am so glad you kept within the budget and kinda saw the Northern Lights! I went to Reykjavik on a work trip in March a few year ago and I had the same windy and grey experience. Didn't see the sun or a clear sky for the entire time I was there! Total swizz if you ask me. Bleak

I lived in a bed sit with shared bathroom for 6months or so many years ago, I did however have a sink which was pee’d in several times a day! I also used to make spaghetti in the kettle….good times believe it or not!

The Northern lights is essentially a winter phenomenon when it's dark (and very cold). If you want to see the midnight sun in summer, you're not going to see any northern lights, obviously.!! With regard to Stonehenge, your photo of that was also under the blue skies of warm weather, so once again - its all simply a matter of whether you prefer dark and cold, or bright and warm.
