@@BensCarts I am sorry to hear that but happy that he is able to be in good spirits. You might have him check into prolotherapy. It has helped a lot of people. I know most people are sceptical of new ideas but I have seen it work. Give him our love.

I just unsubscribed. Why don't you address what the title of the video is . that way you wouldn't need to make a video selling the video at Learnhotdogs.com.

I keep tearing up... I am trying to figure out how I can start.. I am going to contact the State of Georgia for catering.. I have a friend that owns a flea market/antique store.. and talk with her about selling hot dogs. Then find out what Georgia says that I have to do.. and get my business license... I have been there about some Fried Chicken ... seems like I have lived there for the past 30 years... we never get to take a vacation and my husband works 7 days a week and I have heart problems... but I so want to do this... I want my hubby not to work so hard and for us to make a decent income.
@BensCarts6 жыл бұрын
You can do it Angela. A flea market can be a great way in because you can usually work under the license of the "in house" restaurant.
@angelakadingo41126 жыл бұрын
I have to see and talk with the owner.. I don't think they have a kitchen, just a snack area prepackaged... I am going to look into the rules and regs and talk about catering. Thanks tons for the encouragement!!!

Also, I am thinking about using a grill.. charcoal.. nothing like a charcoal grilled dog for sure... I would set up outside with my popup tent and coolers and such... but again, got to get the information to see what I can do. I know in my local Kroger they will grill foods from time to time.

Why can't there be ONE federal code that defines health standards for the whole U.S. instead of having to deal with all of these little towns?

I think it's done intentionally so they can attempt to protect the restaurants.

If you open a cart. Does the person that works the cart in Cleveland Ohio have to have a vendors license and business license . Or are those for the business . I work and I want to start a cart and have someone work my carts for me . Does the person I hire need anything.
@BensCarts6 жыл бұрын
Bob is correct. Some states will have you get a food safety manager certification and your employees a regular certification. It's easy though. But as far as business licenses, only you. Hope that helps Steven.

Hey Ben! Binge watching and ordered your book, can't wait. Just one additional thing about the nay sayers. The poor me syndrome. Currently living in a senior apartment complex, 3 years now. Every one is like, " Oh, poor me and add any excuse to that statement.". It's like a contagious sickness and it will infect you. Well, just found out I may be losing a kidney, but that's O.K.. Gives me more time to work on my upcoming business. If I had the poor me syndrome I would probably roll over and die. My advice... avoid the walking dead and start living life!!! Thanks for reigniting my dreams! Gonna miss the opening by a few months, but I will open. I will not be serving kidney-bean salad.

Hi Big Ben! Can one person handle selling lemonade himself? Or do you really need 2 people? I know the customers love to see you squeezing those lemons. Had a 32 oz cup at the Livingstonville Flea Market in upstate NY. The MOST delicious lemonade I ever had!!!!!
@BensCarts5 жыл бұрын
Many do, like Ken Packer with Packer's lemonade, often all by himself. Its always nice to have an extra set of hands, but its not necessary.
@ianscianablo85075 жыл бұрын
@@BensCarts Confused. Are these lemonade vendors actually selling the very same lemonade? Who makes it? Or is "Packer's Lemonade" actually is Ken Packer's recipe? I had some of the most delicious lemonade at the Livingstonville, NY Flea Market last week. I paid $ 5.00 for 32 ounce cup.
@BensCarts5 жыл бұрын
@@ianscianablo8507 Most vendors are making their own from a variation of the same recipe. Lemon, Water, Ice, Sugar = Cash!

Sorry, but I live in NE TN and you cannot make any food in your house unless it is a separate, Health Dept. approved kitchen that IS NOT in your living quarters. I have to get a TN State License from the Health Dept at $210 a year (as of 2018) just to be able to serve lemonade from a cart or table! I can't even make the simple sugar in my home. Please update your info when it comes to TN food vending laws. Thank you for what you do. I'm really enjoying your videos.
@BensCarts6 жыл бұрын
Where would be an update? The codes are different in each state. TN allows you to use your kitchen for a myriad of things (it's in the code). Lemonade is not catering and therefore simple syrup requires being made in a commissary. With over 1300 customers in TN and I vend here - I know the codes from top to bottom.
@avantehomedecoraccents40656 жыл бұрын
extension.tennessee.edu/publications/Documents/SP799.pdf shows the latest codes. I apologize as there are "some" foods that qualify as cottage industry. When I posted my comment earlier, it was after talking to the Bristol health dept and was told that "no" food was allowed to be prepared at home. He never mentioned cottage industry. I didn't find that info til tonight. Yes, simple syrup is controlled as in anything "ice in a cup." I'm still trying to find a commissary. Ironic that I could bake a cake that has milk and eggs, etc but I'm not allowed to boil water and sugar. I'll have to invest $600+ (includes liability , etc) to test out if a $3 cup of lemonade will sell at my local farmers market. I studied about this venture ALL day long. Made numerous phone calls doing my research. My concern now is a video from a guy selling a squeezer who says he's now having trouble getting into shows and had to come up with a Alabama Smasher to get in. Perhaps you could do a video on "when the market is saturated with lemonade vendors." I know your mostly about hot dogs but you've added lemonade. Thanks again. The more I know, the more I'm concerned about lemonade overload. Your thoughts?
@BensCarts6 жыл бұрын
Vickie... check learnhotdogs.com/lemonade-vending-is-answer-to-many/ - I just did a new free course there. Also, saturated? Red car syndrome. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hX7XdZibhNyngtE
