This may just be due to my pikmin obsession over the last year, but to me, including a Dog as a party member seems like a very intentional game design decision. Perhaps you can switch between the two to accomplish different tasks, or even split up for puzzles and such. Maybe Gibbeagle could squeeze through gaps, swim, and run faster while Ozodaughter is able to jump & climb.

Hylics 3 can go in so many different ways and has a ton of potential in expanding on the previous games both gameplay wise and narratively, that it's legitimately become one of my most anticipated titles. You're ideas are well within the realm of probability but I am expecting some screwballs here and there. Either way, keep up the great content and have a lovely day.

My personal theory is that Pongorma isn't actually dead, and is just crestfallen and tired from all the fighting, possibly retreated somewhere (I hope so at least). The lyrics "When you block out the sun I'll turn on the light." from absent moon make me think maybe he will come to aid the main party of the next game. Because I don't think the Wreature threat or Wayne himself are powerful enough to block out the sun YET, literally or methaphorically (Also Wayne actually eclipsing the sun would be the coolest scene ever.)

Okay so I'm kinda spitballing here but hear me out. So we know that there are "corruptions" of Wayne. We see them from time to time but I noticed them most prominently in Foglast. So taking some bits from Champion of Ennui/Into the Pastel Sky and Promethean's Lament, there's 2 lines I want to bring up: "Mystical forces, reanimations, am I no different in my machinations?" From Champion of Ennui/Into the Pastel Sky. "It's only just begun! (Our savior gone too soon!) I'll make another one! (All hail the king of the moon!) And live to see the day! (beyond his corporal form!) My dream won't fade away! (Pump the Neumataphore!)" Promethean's Lament So we know that Promethean's Lament takes place after the fall of Gibby, but what is he making? I have a theory. I think that Odozeir realized the similarities between Wayne and Gibby, and perhaps if his plan to reconstitute Gibby failed, perhaps he turned to Wayne, or what's left of him, to create some sort of monstrosities as a means to get revenge on him. Perhaps the plan backfired, leaving Odozeir in the state he's in as we see him (I'm not sure how hard Wayne kicked his butt in the first game...), and perhaps Pongorma was left to clean up his mess. With that in mind, he enlists his last will to his daughter, to help him stop what he started. My own theory was that there is actually 2 songs written from the point of Odozeir, Promethean's Lament and Spell of Absurdity, the latter taking place after his plan backfired. Perhaps he was on his deathbed and this was his last will and testament. Of course this could all be a load of bunk and I could be way off base here. I don't remember the official word on how many of the characters had their own part in Absent Moon, but I'm interested in hearing what the Hylics community thinks of this theory.

This is a really interesting theory. I recall a comment I read for part 2 said something similar about the Wayne creatures being created due to meddling from an outside source, rather than the Waynes themselves sparking the evolution. An intruging idea - perhaps a combination of the two ideas is what will happen? My only problem with this interpretation is - why is Odozier's child is seemingly fighting these Wayne creatures in Hylics 3 if they're supposed to be on the same side. Perhaps you could say that they've become uncontrollable, and now need to be stopped. Also, do we know when exactly Promethean's Lament takes place? I always assumed it to be recounting Odozier's thought process post-Hylics 1, up to the moment he reconstitues Gibby in Hylics 2. Overall though, the amount of differing interpretations of what's to come, as well as the storyline we have so far, just shows how many different directions Mason can take this narrative in. I'm honestly really excited for the inevitable curveballs that none of us will see coming.

@@HarryButHarry Honestly I think you pointed out one of the most glaring holes in my theory. It's safe to assume that Odozeir is dying because Wayne kicked his butt so hard. I'm leaving that open to interpretation, but yeah the angle I was going with was that his creations turned on him. The more I think of it though it makes a lot of assumption, I could be entirely off-base with this, assuming he's melting because of Wayne, that kinda begs the question of how did he find the time to do this in the first place? I think half of Promethean's Lament is him recounting the events of Hylics 2 in some form as you stated, but perhaps this is just me looking, I think a part of it also has to do with him not giving up on his mission. Mainly the bridge but also this part towards the end. "The world returned, but I have learned to... Listen to nothing but the beat of your heart, for it is your own!" It's used differently I think the first time in the song, but here, I think it's a clever way of saying he's learned from the mistake of having attempted to reconstitute Gibby. That's my take on it at least. In any case I'm also excited to see what the new Hylics title brings to the table! Thank you so much for your amazing videos, I look forward to part 2 of this discussion! I wonder what other theories the fans have come up with?

31:58 Hey! Does that city kind of look like the one in "Beach Comber"? Like when the big monster goes and destroys the city. They both have the island on the left with a bridge, and they both have the "smooth rectangle" shaped mainland. Also, the monster approaches the city off the bit of land on the bottom of the mainland. Maybe it's just a coincidence, (or im remembering it wrong) but I think it's interesting! Hey, maybe the monster is what happened to the city in the unused area. Maybe, before (or during [or after?]) the Accretion, a big monster destroyed a human city, which was then buried underground/ put somewhere/ etc.

this is gonna sound really stupid, but ive listened to and really enjoyed the Hylics 2 OST, but never actually played any of the games, and I kinda don't want to in case it ruins the music for me if that makes sense? Should I play the games anyway?

Echoing what Chuck replied, but this is absolutely not stupid! A completely valid way to enjoy the content of these games. I've listened to countless soundtracks to games I haven't played yet (e.g. Persona 5, until very recently). That being said, the games are still absolutely worth playing. If you enjoy the vibe of the music, you'll probably like the vibe of the games too. Hearing the songs in context is borderline breathtaking at times (Prevailing Westerlies, I'm looking at you).
