With your handles being soft, it's because thinner pieces take longer to cure. And the reason the mold stuck to your piece is because you used a lighter on it. Those molds in particular you can't use fire with. Same thing happened to me. I hope that helps answer some of your questions. Also I hope you are doing well after your procedure. Love you guys!! 🙂💜

Using a lighter on it wouldn't have been the problem, unless it was too hot or she left it on that area too long. Using a torch or heat gun could ruin the mold. Something she could have done to get rid of bubbles is to spray them with 100% alcohol

May I ask why thinner pieces take longer is it because it doesn't produce as much heat? Even though I imagine heat is just a by product.

@@YoungDymisty Yes, I presume it it from the heat. When you do a deep pour it can sometimes smoke from being so hot and even "flash cure", cure instantly from being so hot. Even doing an average thick pour in a room with high heat will cause the resin to cure much more quickly. I think overall thinner pieces tend to cool down more quickly despite the chemical reaction making it warm. Ideally you want to keep the resin between certain temperatures for a normal/quicker cure.

I like food in resin. I like just about anything in resin, including spiders & insects! Did you spray your molds with anything before pouring your resin? That is one reason why your mold may have stuck to the resin. Another reason could be whatever you used to pop the bubbles may have been too hot or left on that area for too long. Another way to get rid of bubbles is to spray them with 100% alcohol. Things to remember for future resin pours in molds. I hope you're doing good health wise!

You should try coating the things you want in the resin with resin before you do the pour. I've seen a couple of other creators that do that. It keeps stuff from creating air bubbles and possibly from leaking things in the final pour. Just a thought. Love your videos and I hope you're doing well after your procedure.

So happy to hear you're home and recuperating! Hope Sika is doing well too! Just take it easy and take care of yourself! The resin and mold fused together with the use of a lighter plus the heat of the chemical reaction. I've had this happen several times and yeah, it ruins your molds. These ones are more cheaply made so that really doesn't help either. Switch over to a heat gun if you have it, or use Isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher) in a spray bottle and lightly mist the bubbles :)

If you ever come to Corvallis Oregon, you have to stop at a place called “Cheesy Stuffed Burgers”. Best burgers I’ve had in years! It started as a food truck and moved to brick and mortar. They managed to survive the pandemic, because the food is just so good!

The mold that you used could have been made of a material that could melt when in contact with resin.

These molds are made for resin. The problem may have been that she didn't spray her mold with mold release before pouring the resin, or that when popping bubbles her heat source could have been too hot or left in those areas too long

Hi hope you are feeling better today. The mould that you used I have found is very sensitive to heat. So it catches if you use any flame. You can use your hairdryer instead to get rid of the bubbles or spray rubbing alcohol over your project. Hope that helps in future

My cat will attack me if I don't give her one of my McDonald's chicken nuggets. She loves them too much and just hearing about McDonald's chicken nuggets reminded me of my cat. I once got her a entire 10 piece chicken nuggets from McDonald's and she was able to eat 6 of them before getting full. I asked my mom to get her a 10 piece because I ate all of My chicken nuggets in the 10 piece my dad got me for dinner. My cat was mad because I forgot to give her a McDonald's chicken nugget but she was happy to have the entire 10 piece nuggets to herself. She only ate 6 and wouldn't eat anymore so my dog got the rest after I took one of the nuggets for myself. Anyways I have a scar from when my cat attacked me to get the last chicken nugget I was about to eat once. I did forget to give her one and she attacked my hand to get me to drop the last one so she could take it from me.

Jackie, I would like to hear your thoughts on the environmental impact of resin and its completely inability to biodegrade. You have previously taken a stance on the environmental impact of glitter but now so many of your videos involve resin which arguably has a much larger negative impact than glitter.

I think the difference is the glitter often gets used in beauty and bath products and ends up in the ocean. Resin is used to make objects that we tend to keep as decor or reusable household items. So I don't think the environmental impact is as bad. However, it's always something to think about I guess

@@banjorox1 For starters, resin is made from fossil fuels. We all know how colossal of a negative impact those have. Beginners throw away a lot of cured resin, and it will never biodegrade so it very well might last forever - long after humans. It's even more of a problem because some places burn trash and, if burned improperly, resin releases toxins. If resin pollutes water (mixes with water while the resin is still in its liquid form) it's very harmful. Alert the authorities level harmful. That seems like an unlikely thing to happen but consider this... How many partially full bottles of resin do you think people throw out, that can make their way into places like the ocean? I'd wager it's a substantial number. This also means if you have a mostly empty bottle, don't rinse it in the sink to re-use or recycle! I doubt most people using resin are aware of that. Look up the Safety Data Sheet for any brand of epoxy resin and read the section on Ecological Information... It's not good. And that's for brands that follow rules and regulations. I'd bet you can get all kinds of unregulated types from places like Wish or AliExpress. That is why I'd like to hear Jackie's thoughts, considering her vocal stance on glitter.

@@thumbsarehandy. that’s what I was thinking too, publicly shames companies for including glitter and encourages people to not buy or use glitter because it’s environmentally harmful. Yet she’s using resin so much currently. And no offence to them but they really are pretty much beginners and barely know how to use it properly. Heck they don’t even wear protective gear when using it, so I doubt they know how harmful it is. I’d be interested to know how much they actually do know though.
