I love my MinilogueXD and it is so versitile. I really do enjoy using it to make synthwave tracks so i wanted to make this tutorial to go through my thought process about making these patches, also how i work with them in a track. Watch as i go through the basic bass, Keys, Leads, FM, Pads and other texture sounds to put my last track together.

This one I use a Canon760D and a Helios 44 and canon efs 24mm. then the sound was recorded to Reaper. Switching between my tripod and new Smallrig handle for the handheld recording.

I'm looking to transition from VSTs to Analog synthesis with the only reason being that I want to physically work with sound. Synthwave was definitely the genre that push me to this conclusion and see that a synth like the Minilogue XD can produce such similar sounds is really pushing me into buying it. Thanks for these tutorials!

It is such a versitile machine. I got a few more tutorials like this lined up before I do a proper review on the minilogue xd. it is the modern classic in my opinion. I recently been talking about more utilities for hooking up hardware sound to a computer so you might find them interesting. If you live near a music shop. See if they stock it and give it a try. Might not help your wallet in the near future. But you will like it.

Great tips thanks. I was curious if u have any idea how to control xd externally using CCs. I have spent hours trying to figure it out, is CC43 for filter but can't figure out how to make it control the xd. Any thoughts?

Cheers Nolan, It is in the pipeline as i made some really cool eletro-acoustic Rhodes sounds. Maybe i can shift it to design and make other acoustic sounds.
