We believe in the torah that is revealed to moses. But after moses some scholars changed it. The elite you know they change some things that they don like. We believe the religion of moses is islam. The religion islam is the religion of all prophets. The religion of Jesus and Moses. They had the same religion. Just like the last prophet Muhamed. But it can be that some prophets given some different rules of applying this religion but core belief is the same. The Torah you have now is changed in the core religion. Thats why it isnt the same religion anymore. So we reject the Torah of today. We cannot use it. But in the time of the prophet...the prophet was there so he can distinguish that which is from God. 2 Jews had commited adultery and the punishment in the torah is stoning to death. They came to the prophet Muhammed. Hence they knew he was a prophet!!! They wanted to know what god has revealed about the punishment of comitting adultery. They were hoping maybe God had another punishment thats less severe than they have. So they came to the prophet and pretended they want him to judge them from his book the Quran. So God revealed to the prophet Muhamed if you want judge them from The Quran or if you want from their Torah. Because the punishment was the same.... So they didnt accepted it. They only came to the prophet out of desires if they were upright in their Torah they would have accepted the punishment and died. But they love life more than the obedience to God.

I think a lot of us don't really classify between politics and religion. The Abrahamic Faiths, Judaism, Christianity and Islam, respectively, have a lot in common than any other religion. I agree with the rabbi with all respect, that the reason they have chosen Islam to study, is because the relationship we have, the belief in God Almighty only, eating from halal or kosher and so forth. Christianity was the same until they make a lot of unnecessary amendments on it.
