It's so funny to think of them living "without modern conveniences" when I think of them as doing that all the time, compared to the way we live today! No microwaves, no AC in their cars, AC still being relatively new in homes, still using party lines on the phone, no cell phones, computers, internet, not even VHS at the time! No hair straighteners - my mom said the girls used to iron their hair with a clothes iron back in the seventies, which was 15-20 years after this!

Here from 2035: It’s funny to think that people had lives where they had to go to work and didn’t have robots and AI doing everything for them and robotaxis is driving them around. And some people got cancer which was a horrible painful disease.

They did a similar episode on The Patty Duke Show except Patty was going back to living before 1800 and the first lesson she learned was the telephone had not been invited. Here on I Love Lucy they only went as far back as 1900 so they did have phones then.

Here I am sitting here ready to google how to churn butter. I mean I really don’t think I would do any better living like they did in Lucy’s days without all the modern conveniences we have today. Where on earth do they begin to figure out how to make butter from scratch without looking it up online or even using the computer search in the library?

@@SamK1281 Camping ( cowboy) coffee, perked over a campfire uses egg shells, but not the whole egg like Lucy did! 😂
