I think Fickell came in thinking there was already a really strong base there and that all he had to do was elevate in recruiting and elevate the passing game, ie: he thought the run game and defense would already be really solid. He didn't anticipate how much Chryst had cratered the program towards the end. I think he was surprised how much less talented the roster was than he thought it'd be. He was shocked they couldn't run the ball etc... The recent hires and portal additions make me hopeful. He has totally raised our ceiling with recruiting and hopefully the change in direction here with the offense and defensive scheme get us back to a higher floor.

I did not realize Wisconsin went 5-7, this is shocking. Fickell better win in 2025 or he fired. Wisc has a proud football tradition and does not need to let any coach run their program into the ground.

I'm a Wisconsin fan and I was just watching some Billy Edwards trying to get a feel and and he's not exceptional but with a better offense and QB coach I think there's things to work with for him. He was just asked to do way too much at Maryland. DL is currently improving in the portal but it will come down to coaching for this team, as it always does. Fickell also has to find a way for them to not give up if they don't win all their games.
