Great video Brian. Haven’t read a new Spidey book in a long time. The writing hasn’t been very good. You pointed it out. He hasn’t grown as a character even after everything he has gone through. Maybe one day.

Some great thoughts. I dropped spidey after Slott left because I felt the progression he made with the character was lost when the creative team changed. You hit the nail on the head, we need growth.

@@BrianLCS if anything I’d try to get back to a mix of the small emotional stories I enjoyed from that time period and action. I do think theh need to get Peter and MJ back, that in itself can be a nice arc involving Peter teaming up with Dr strange and some of the mystical marvel characters to challenge Mephisto. Maybe someone else needs to make a deal in exchange for Peter and Mj to get back. Can be a nice opportunity to revitalize another character. Be wild if he has to confront a negative version of spidey ie the other from JMS in hell. I’d also like tk revisit sone of the elements Slott introduced with Rhino. Was a really well done story. Let’s give the goblins a break. Don’t know if you remember but I wrote a pitch for cardiac once. Think he’s an underrated spidey character

Great video and ideas. Yeah they should have some kind of plan. I think, for the big IPs like ASM, X-Men etc, they should create a separate division in Marvel for each of those big ones. Well if enough people stop buying maybe they will stop and think about it and try to give fans what they want. You’re right why can’t MJ and Pete be together?? Why doesn’t he mature and learn to be an adult?? 🤷🏼‍♂️. One day it’ll turn around lol. Thanks for sharing. Be well. 🤙

Very interesting points and ideas brought up! With such a long history behind him, I imagine it must be very difficult for any writer to come up with a good story that is true to the character while respecting the history. I do like the Miles Morales angle!

I enjoyed the different poitns of view. PP and MJ should be together. There are so many different storylines that would be amazing wiht the right writer. I do like the idea of Miles being geared toward younger readers. Seems like a natural fit.

There's four other running Spider-Man comics that I can think of (Spider-Men, Ultimate, Miles, and the manga) all of them are so much better and more readable than the current Amazing Spider-Man. I mean, thats still great for Spidey as a whole, but God they really just the main book stagnate for sad man child fantasies that make Peter Parker look pathetic. Editorial needs to fix what they did when they took his marriage away.

Miles and Ultimate have been my favorite reads. Zigler is doing a good job writing Miles even with a bunch of crossovers killing the flow of his writing.

When did MJ and Peter break up? I didn't like it when I learned they were not together any longer. He needs at least one stable entity in his life. I started reading ASM after watching your channel. The art has been okay, but the story feels lazy. At times there are a number of panels within, but very little dialogue. Flip back to the 70s and look at the art and stories. Look at the effort. It has a feel as though the writers are in a hurry to just crank something out. Truth be told, I think I am out again on purchasing future issues.

There was a story in the 2007 "One Bad Day" which erased Peter and MJ being married. Agreed, the current story does feel rushed. They are publishing books twice a month and at one point 3 times a month. Seems like more books but lower quality.

I have only picked up later issues, here and there's, from shows, I don't have a strong perspective but it feels a bit of a chore to read and it's over. I have a tough time reviewing it just in my head alone. I'm not retaining it to think on it. Stuff out of the early two-thousands with the Amazing Spiderman relaunch I was recycling the stories in my mind.

I think they should take him back to grass roots. Get a creative team that delivers good stories and keeps him in the streets battling crime. I agree that he needs a balance with his life. Personally, i think it's to many spider people. Maybe when Wells and JR get off the title, we will see results.
