I live on the coast too (Mobile,Al) and there is nothing harder to do than a random bass fishing trip.

Next time, try tossing a frog THROUGH those lily pads. Wind and pause, wind and pause. Lily pads ALWAYS hold bass because lillies grow in slower water and provide great cover that bass LOVE! I can usually pull 3-5 bass out of ANY lilly pad grouping. If you want to fish deeper, faster, and more weedless, use a fluke on a weighted EWG 2/0 hook with a twist-lok.

There's about 100 people on shore under tents, and it was awful trying to get in. There were people just sitting there talking putting in, so I'm just getting more and more pissed, and then looking like an idiot trying to get the boat on the trailer with my trolling motor down. I don't think I have ever been so pissed and embarrassed in my life, which is saying a lot.

It started off great!!! I caught the biggest wiper I ever had first cast and troll, but it all went downhill from there. I was just on a lake, so I couldn't imagine the ocean.

From there, the worst part was the rope to the trolling motor broke as soon as it locked, and I could only get the pole to raise more than 6 inches and my wife wouldn't come help, and about noon was in the high 90's. I don't think I mentioned I had not slept in 36 hours, so I couldn't think straight whatsoever.
