Jase brother, I'm man crushing on you so hard these days! Stumbled across your videos recently and immediately drawn in by how absolutely authentic you are! There are few things more admirable than someone on a journey of growth by exploring things that don't necessarily fit neatly within the small "box" we tend to define ourselves by in life. Watching the authentic, positive reactions of a self proclaimed metalhead to music near the opposite end of the spectrum is quite refreshing! Keep it up buddy!!

I love hearing her say this, I've always thought so too. I'm not particularly into metal, but metalheads and punks are always the coolest, chillest people in the room because you guys seem to have a built-in space to process negative emotions. I like hanging out with y'all the best.

Some tatted, pierced, leather wearing metal heads turn out to be incredibly well balanced parents because they have that emotional outlet to let themselves reset and move on. I know a few who branched out into other music styles as they get older and learn to appreciate the intricacies of less aggressive music.

My son told me thirty some years ago that listening to metal on the way home from school was calming. I had to try it. He was right.

If people listen to all types of music just because they like it, would make them feel better!

Metal can absolutely make you calmer lol. I spent 7 hours outside this winter shoveling snow to the Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal soundtracks. Even as the snow plows came around and REPEATEDLY filled in the places I just shoveled, I was chiiiiiiiiiiiiill.

I think pretty much all music, if its music that you like, is calming

Beth is a top flight vocal coach as well as a reactor on you tube as well. I Listen to all genre's of music, was in the industry for 25+ years and listen to metal when the mood hits me. Usually I feel so much calmer after. I remember hearing older people talk about how "evil" the current era (mine) was. It seems to carry on with generational differences. Music's power is it's ability to cause emotions and make us feel and bring awareness to us through it. Happy, sad, powerful, relaxed, angry, joyful..there to choose. I appreciate the skill and ability it takes to sing opera. I recognize the talent it takes...that's the one not really for me. There ya go..Opera makes me irritated. Is it "evil' ..no

My brother is a metalhead, big burly man with viking cut dark hair and constant stubble... And he's a complete Teddy Bear. He's just completely inoffensive. My blond cheery sister who listens to pop and whose fav band is Little Mix IS the dangerous, psychotic one. Stereotypes, man. What you gonna do.

Back when I was still a postman (mailman to you, I guess) I had my walkman and the cassette of Megadeth's Countdown to Extinction. I think; looking back now, that I was beginning to feel the long term stress of coping with undiagnosed mental illness and I remember being on delivery and playing the entire tape continuously while I was on my route on several occasions; sometimes it seemed as if it were pulling the darkness out of me, kerk (now living in Scotland)

Music is powerful and transcends all if you are open to it. Along those lines... CHECK out Gordan Lightfooot, Edmund Fitzgerald. A true story that took place in 1976. I think you will like it.

I LOVE THIS SONG. One of my oldest favorite songs, I remember listening with my Dad in the car. The story is gripping.

All top 40 music is about the same stuff, no matter the genre. Partying, sex, losing a relationship.... Most popular music is just cut and paste, reshaping worn out ideas and spitting it out for the general public.
