A few things to possibly include: The game's coding makes it so being on a platform while in the top blast zone will ALWAYS star or screen KO. Size changes effect ALL melee hitboxes, if I recall correctly. Anyway, love your vids!

thats what I think as well. It probably has something to do with being in a certain animation state while in the blastzone. Taking damage for example doesnt kill you if they dont have knockback in the balstzone [such as Fox lasers]. The state of being in tumble does kill you in the blastzone though or any form of knockback. So it probably has to do with the animation like you said.

Maybe it's just being grounded, because you can run off stages and die on flat stages that extend through the blast zone. That example could just be the side blast zones behaving differently than the top, but it could still apply to the top

I think standing on the peak instantly kills you for the same reason you'd die when riding a platform to the top like in moving underground mushroom kingdom, platforms off the top you're standing on kills you. You can actually clash with incineroar's forward special with a grab, similar to what happens when 2 characters normally grab eachother at the same time. Also, does a pocketed/reflected whack/thwack increase the chance of instant KO?

Here's a pointless fact: Hero can only use a set four moves for his down special in Home-Run Contest. So, you can't use kamikaze in that mode, unfortunately. What's interesting is that kamikaze appears in Spirits mode, which is weird since you almost always have one life (with the exception of the final battle).

Regarding the Great Plateau Tower segment, idk if you know this already but if a Grounded character touches the Upper Blast Zone, they are automatically KO'd. This can be seen in the Stage Builder and Master Hand's "cheese slice" platform attack in Smash 4. I also think it's possible that the Beetle uses this mechanic, since it locks players into the "grabbed" animation, which is normally a grounded state. Boss Galaga may have a similar effect with a different animation, but that animation is also a result of knockback, so I think it's still plausible.

Being oob and airborne (no hitstun) vertically is fine but if you're standing on a platform or surface you immediately die. -Falcons up special is also non clank variety I think. The Great Plateau can be explained easily. You can die by being carried by a platform above ceiling. If a standing platform exists at the tip of the tower, I'd wager you die by carry. So my guess is that the blast zone registers standing states as a death trigger as well.

The first fact makes sense: on rainbow ride when the camera pans down the (relatively) rising platforms can kill. Basically standing on a platform above the blast zone will kill you

5:10 I’m pretty sure you can also stack the slow time with shadow (assist trophy) so it can be witch time, timer, and shadow all making one slow as HECC joker

As a matter of fact, you can stand on the top of the plateau tower. But if you do, you instantly get star KO'd. If you're standing on any platform above the blast zone, you get star KO'd automatically. This can easily be replicated with any stage that has platforms that fly upwards, such as at the end of rainbow cruise.

Use a jump spirit and a bunny hood and a Jetpack to get on top of the tower also use it to make Kaclang do more damage

The reason you just die when you land ontop of the tower is because it is inside the actual blast zone itself, and any interaction up there will be instant death, this can also be seen in project M with lucario wall climb in the training room
