@@machummonrum6483 - Unfortunately there were plenty of poor gigs. They could often be on auto-pilot. Karoli would turn up late consistantly. It's very difficult to make any judgement on the live shows, even when they exist in recordings. They over blasted the audiences. It was a real treat when they played softly. Holger was often the one to set a mood. Karoli was the composer of the stepwise theme in MOZZER SKY. He was probably the weakest member of the central 4. Malcolm & Damo were important 5th members.

Irmin alive still and he was the oldest too. i patted him on the back and said "good show" to him when he walked past me in the street after I saw the 'Can Project' in London a couple years back. Jaki unexpectedly died couple months b4 the concert he meant to be drumming at which sucked, and Holger too ill to attend I heard, which indeed he must've been then. An unforgettable and unusual music scene in Germany in the sixties and seventies. They are less well known than Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream although they are pioneers of Krautrock. All in all, they were 50 years ahead of their time. Too bad it was cut to 10 minutes.......Eine unvergessliche und ungewöhnliche Musikszene in Deutschland in den sechziger und siebziger Jahren. Sie sind weniger bekannt als Kraftwerk und Tangerine Dream, obwohl sie Krautrock gründeten. Alles in allem waren sie ihrer Zeit 50 Jahre voraus. Schade, dass es auf 10 Minuten reduziert wurde

@@francis4291 - there's much more to the variable quality of Mozzer Sky & other CAN trax. The early CAN trax were all analogue as far as I know. Holger at the controls .... Dip into the other YT versions of Mozzer Sky. They differ in ways other than splicing.... Turntable speeds etc... The pitch too...

@@rogerantonybennett5272 Oh yes ? I owned the album in its first version, the one with the great cover that showed film clippings. Later, in the 80s, I bought the first CD pressing. I never should have parted with vinyl, but that's the way it is. The first CD was not remastered, but the timing of Mother Sky, I believe, was identical to the album (dubbing from the original master or tape). To be checked. Afterwards, I remember that I noticed a sound difference between the Landed album and the CD. Thank you for your remarks. 🌌 (from Babaluma 🙂)

"... ege bamyasi can (1972) can is probably the most widely known and often cited band identified with krautrock. groops like stereolab (at least their early catalog) and sonic youth are clearly followers of can’s signature motorik beats. the cover design of ege bamyasi is odd but charming. it features a giant can of okra. apparently, thurston moore purchased this album for 49-cents at woolworth’s simply because of the cover, not realizing just how much the music on the wax inside would change his life.

pauljones651 Thanks for the history. Can is incredible. So, I'm at work, this song starts, I can't leave my truck while it's playing. To put it mildly, this sounds like everything I have every liked, from any band. Cool, Hip, Groovy, Hipnotic. I my opinion, most (if not all) of those commercially successful bands from the '60s-'80s couldn't equal this. I would guess Hendricks picked up on Can.

theres a lot of can influence in thee oh sees newer stuff. Lupine ossuary/lupine dominus for example have the same bassline as this song essentially lol
