4 things to make positive change happen - hunger - opportunity rooted in reality - permission - way to communicate and execute the idea. Why Dublin's centre between the canals is not a great city. who lives in the city? private rented, social, owner occupied about 30% but not enough families in city centre - Dominic street school- who live in City centre. regeneration through public private partnerships

Schools, parks and who your kid will play with - transition towns don't offer people enough opportunities to put down roots. Would the opportunity for communiites to work together to develpo apartment buidings as groups help make city centrres better for families? 2009 competition in Smithfield for DCC looked at what young architects did when they designed buildings on plots on Dominic street

Dublin city is no longer Irish. Irish are minorities in many parts of the inner city so NO WAY would I move into the city and expose my kids to potential violence.
