at 38.18, civilians as shield threat says GG can't take damage as long as their are civilians in that location, it doesn't say that HE needs to be in that location. Am i reading this wrong or should you not have been able to attack him at that time?

@@GetUpandGame haha i was hoping you'd prove me wrong! that would make GG easier to beat! lol, I've beaten him only once and its pretty impressive how much strategy it took us, for a game that seems kind of random at first glance

Great playthrough, Josh! You had Green Goblin really well contained. He throws out all sorts of threats very quickly. You really have to manage every aspect of the game. I feel like the other villains aren't as challenging in that way. I vote for adding Spider-Ham to your roster! (Unless you've already filmed it 😛)

No I haven’t so I’ll bring the silly pig along! I’m glad I didn’t too, since I played that threat wrong. I surely would’ve done it again lol And thanks for the encouragement lol. It really felt like it was going well. But I also needed to take care of that top right location so it wasn’t going as well as I thought 😅😅

@GetUpandGame Most threats only apply to their own location, so it's an understandable mistake. Otherwise, Black Cat and Spider-Man made a fantastic team!

I also thought managing two heroes was helpful as you potentially could use tokens you acquired within a turn and reduced the number of targets for the henchmen threats.

Mistake Alert 🚨: I completely misunderstood how Civilians as Shield worked. I read it too quickly and just though he was protected in that location, so I could never have damaged him. I’ll play it right next time! 😅

I tried to beat him 7 times already and never did it. The only time I got closer was when I lightly cheated by choosing Sanctum Santorum as my initial location and I had Dr Strange in my team. He still managed to beat me at the very end. He's SO hard.

Wow, yeah Green Goblin is super hard! 😅 Also, side note, you wouldn’t have damaged him at all because there was still a civilian on the upper right location and he can’t take any damage as long as a civilian is there because of that threat card. Super great effort though and very fun to watch!

Do you like playing solo better with commander rules or playing solo controlling multiple characters?

It’s really a toss up for me. I think they’re different enough that I enjoy both. Forced to choose I think I still prefer to control multiple characters, as the positioning of the different heroes is fun. But what I tend to do is play a scenario once with a team, and then play it again with that team but as a Commander solo focusing on one of the heroes. Best of both worlds! 😀

👏🏽 Worthy loss! You had it very well managed until the human shield card came out. Those threats accelerate with the cascading Bam!s. Made for a great story arc!

After 8 losses I finally defeated GG with Spider-Man and Miles Morales. Using Spider-Verse locations was key as they do have more open spaces to prevent early overflow than the Avengers or X-Men locations. And 2 heroes was good for the lower GG’s hp and fewer targets for the Bam!s. Def synchronize completing 2 missions so you defer under pressure as much as possible but since he Bam!s every turn you’re probably going to complete one of the missions by the 4th turn. I’d prioritize civilians over thugs to render the civilians as shield card moot and to save your attacks against GG himself. And def try to attack him as early as you can even if it’s just 1 or 2 hits. I usually lost because a) I had all 6 threat cards out or b) I ran out of attack icons before we could finish him. And those Goblin Formula master plan cards are a doozy! He’s the hardest villain I’ve played but the most thrilling because of the game arc! Fun even in defeat! 😂
