So there is NO extra floor mat included. On the video you had just one extra where you put the tent on? I think this should be mentioned. Naturehike for example has one included. I'm now thinking should I get one addionally to this tent so I don't need to think about it gettin ruptured by twigs etc.

After watching your video on the 1.0 I decided to hold off on getting the Cosmitto, and man am I glad I did. After watching this video I bit the bullet and got the 2.0 from Amazon. (Got the ungraded version for 140) Set it up for the first time next to a lake on a windy day in southern NV. The fly does a very good job of keeping the wind out. All in all seems like a good tent. Keep it up. Now if I'm looking at getting something, I look through to see if you have done a video on it. Awesome job, THANK YOU.

Dunno if you ever saw my comment on the original cosmitto leak test video, but with mine I found that around the vents was not seam sealed. I sealed that area and first trip out in pouring rain it held up perfect with no water inside. New one looks good and is light, the vent design is interesting as well

Dang! I just got the older version of this tent a week ago, lol! Well, I planned on doing some seam-sealing of the vents to see if I could stop any of the leaking Luke mentioned before, so I guess I'll still do that, and if that doesn't work, I'll be putting up a tarp over it when I camp. Not like I am a storm-camper like Luke is, anyway. I still wish I had held out, but I really like the overall look and features of the Cosmitto, regardless...

Just thought I’d mention that I ordered one of the 2.0 versions of this tent three weeks ago. Today’s date, 11/11/23. It looked the goods. Just like this one here in the review, only both outter door zips were missing the two way zip😑 So the ventilation post at the top of the door was rendered useless. Had to return it via Amazon US. I’m here in Australia. Seems pretty wild that they’d be selling a tent with such an obvious factory error. I’ll still try and order another and hope for the best as it does seem like a really nice tent. Damn shame.

I like the vent design. I'm a big fan of being able to open and close a vent from inside the tent. It'll be interesting to see how well this one performs. Oh, and Luke and his first world problems: "I have so many tents from the same manufacturers that I can't keep track of which is which. I'm gonna have to actually label the storage bag, what a pain. If this performs well, it's going in my emergency bag in place of the River Country 2.2. While the River Country 2.2 is lightweight, it's inconvenient to actually use for a number of reasons. It's also only available in green which is not well-suited to blend in in my area. Coyote brown is just a better overall choice for multi-terrain concealment because, at the very least, it blends in with dirt and dry bushes. I will continue to use my River Country trekking poles, though; one of them saved me from a nasty fall during my hunting trip last fall.

Have you done a review on the Alps Lynx 2? I've had one for several years and it has straight up impressed me. 8 day kayak trip in Montana, several hiking/camping/boat camping trips, and 2022 Missouri River Rendezvous (kayak trip) where we were treated to hail and high winds one night. I have video from during the storm. Several tents blew flat. Pretty much all REI tents failed. Most dome designs did well but my old Lynx 2 held fast with no leaks.
@jamesellsworth9673 Жыл бұрын
This looks better! The stormflap/vent 'swoop' of fabric may also help ward off windswept moisture. Separating the body from the fly by allowing airflow should help condensation.

Actually, it seems to be a nice tent, especially for the price and size. Weight might be a tad heavy, but, not radically so. This will be a very roomy one person tent to include all gear and such, keeping everything dry, providing it does in fact pass the rain test. For Texas weather, this will be a hit if the waterproof test is good.

I was looking at Cosmitto 2.0 at 2am this morning lol and watched your 1.0 review. A few hours later and WHAM, you've previewed it! I've been looking for something around the $150 price class to replace an old Big Agnes 3-man tent that got pancaked in a severe thunderstorm. Went ahead and pulled the trigger on the grey updated one-- I don't think the listings for the Coyote tent are for the 2.0 version(yet).

I really do love the design, shape, and look of this tent. The price is pretty amazing and I do hope it is waterproof. I can see where they have saved the money on making this at but hey, if you are buying cheap tents then expect some annoying parts on it. If I didn't already bought the Nemo Dagger OSMO 2p tent (which is amazing by the way) then I would have went with this one after Luke did his test. I will say this, I don't think Luke wants anything bad to happen to the company. I understand why they didn't want to do a full recall and just remarked it as "Never use in rain" so they can make back their investment. Who knows, maybe the 1.0 tent is really useful and shines the best in deserts? But yeah, on a business point I can understand why they made the choice.
@jaredstewmelt Жыл бұрын
~2 lbs lighter than the Teton Sports Mtn Ultra 2 for $30 more? That's actually a pretty fair trade. 5.2 lbs split between two hikers isn't bad for a short backpacking trip... And it seems ideal as a car camping tent. Let's hope it doesn't leak!

@basedbro2578 Жыл бұрын
@@raymurray3282 since it’s not double walled I don’t think it will do well at all. Not to say if you have a good sleeping system that you could stay warm. A good R value on your sleeping pad and a warm quilt/sleeping bag will always help even in a 3 season tent
@jaredstewmelt Жыл бұрын
The bigger issue with a tent that isn't designed for the 4th season (assuming you have an appropriate sleep system, already) really comes down to the tent's ability to resist wind and handle a snow load. If your shelter collapses/falls apart, it doesn't do you much good even if your sleeping pad and bag/quilt are appropriate for the temps.
