Thought Sam was very reserved as he usually is. Blues are gelling to a point plenty of work to do but have been getting better each game. Stansfield was a signing for next season but due to FFP rules its better financially to do it now. As for the game, blues need to just treat it as another game which it is

Blues fan here, really enjoyed this. I am very wary of this fixture from a Birmingham point of view. Wrexham are playing well, scoring all types of goals and have defended well with little of the ball. They also know how to win as a group and have a shared ethos, which we are still building. That being said, our owners and manager have sought to slowly instill a culture of excellence into everything we do. Tom Wagner has invested across all aspects of the club over the past 12 months - in terms of fan experience, training facilities, player nutrition, as well as recruiting playing and coaching staff. The Rooney experiment, while terrible, was rectified within 15 games and resulted in them hiring a fantastic manager, Tony Mowbray, who sadly had to leave us due to health reasons early on. Blues players for Wrexham players to watch out for are: Marc Leonard (as Sam has said) but also Paik and Bielik - both should be playing for top championship teams. Paik is a South Korean international. Our left back, Alex Cochrane, has also been very impressive. It is going to be a great game. I wish Wrexham all the best for the season ahead, their rise has been a fantastic story.

Nice length again and effortlessly entertaining. Funny how we all see games differently though. Thought we bossed the Slops until the first goal. Then Dobson and Rathbone dropped far too deep for no obvious reason and created a massive hole which the opposition were too poor to exploit properly over the next 20. We gifted them far too many set pieces in that period in that exact space we vacated and better teams will exploit that. Perhaps controversially I’m still waiting for Dobson to put in more than 45 minutes. You get a half of brilliant tackles followed by dreadful distribution or brilliant distribution and terrible tackles. Yet to see more than 20 minutes of both in one half. He has disappeared most second halves so far. Saturday was typical. For 20 his distribution was superb. Then he put in the tackle for which there was no need and he was lucky to escape with a yellow. After that he was anonymous; barely tackled and some of his distribution was shocking. Rathbone will get better but for me and the various people around me he was no more than busy on his full league debut. Clearly capable of box to box play but nothing really clicked for him. Far from winning at a canter I thought we desperately needed the second and Hurst was right to say they were always in it until the third. O’Connell doesn’t get the run of the ball when he tries to lose a fight largely with his own legs and it could easily have been 2-1 and even more nervy. That said, how could you not enjoy the fact it was 3-0 about 7 seconds later! Brilliant. Where I’ll also disagree is about O’Connor. Our block of the Macron all commented that Wycombe, Bolton and Slops all targeted him as a weak point because of his lack of pace. McClean has done an awful lot of covering at left back in every game so I’m not buying that Tom is playing well. Slops weren’t very bright so they kept trying to target him in the air. He’s not great defending in the air but he found it a sight easier than on the ground. I’ve also always thought his hoofs from left back are bewilderingly poor. When he plays attacking midfield I think his passes there are often different class. Credit it where it’s due. Second half he did push up and it was transformative. Glided into space; set up several attacks and some of his passes were just superb. At the moment left back is his only way into this team but I think we’ll need an upgrade as he struggled badly many times last season and we kind of pretended it didn’t happen when it clearly did. Mrs. H., with zero interest in WAFC, took me to Bradford away when I was recovering from pneumonia and even she was moved to ask “Is there something wrong with him?” I think I’d have wanted to have heard something about Marriott and Palmer. I don’t especially rate the former but I hold my hands up when I’m wrong. Him and Ollie are enjoying something of a L1 renaissance. The pair of them ran their socks off; pressed high; chased back and could be seen doing that full tilt at 3-0. They’re either incredibly thick or magnificent examples. I’m going for the latter. Yes Max and Barney have stepped up but come on. Where’s the serious love for Ollie especially?

Blues fan here. Great POD, very excited for tonight. Like many, I think this is your best chance to beat us with our new team being strangers to each other in the new system. Do Wrexham fans have many thoughts on the likelihood that Cardiff might come down and you might go up and miss out on some big 'derby' games there?

If there's interest in Cleworth in the January window, I hope the owners take no less than 10 million pounds for him. That's Premier League small money for such a big talent.

I don't know how aware you are of American Football, but the Mannings are Quarterback Royalty. Archie, Payton, and Eli. Eli had an 84 million dollar contract with the NY Giants for 4 years. Payton had a $96 million contract with the Denver team over 5 years. Eli Manning in a Wrexham jersey gets attention in North America.

Speaking as a Canadian who has followed Leeds for decades and now has Wrexham as my solid #2 team I think you're wrong about no global audience. And as far as Wrexham vs Birmingham whilst the Blues have to be a solid favourite this coming match, I think the game will prove to be decidedly uncomfortable for the home team. I predict the final score to be 2-1 with Birmingham pleased to get out with three points.

It does seem a little rich a Birmingham fan calling a bunch of excited podcasters a little big for their boots!!! 😂 With all the excitement within the Birmingham bubble, you’ve obviously become oblivious to all your own fan based and player hype you’ve created? Second place seems like failure apparently? Oh how the weight of expectation can hang heavy…. Also TBF I’d expect most teams will come to you and not consider a loss as failure, simply learn and move on to the next team, whereas you lot, imagine if we take a point back? Or even 3? I’m guessing wholesale meltdown within Birmingham… Black Tuesday
@JayBritt-y4l2 ай бұрын
@@dscott6629 have you been to many Leeds games? Or Wrexham games?😉 As for the match itself, I don't think any blues fan is expecting it to be a walk in the park. Especially given the start Wrexham have had, banging in a ton of goals averaging only around 30% possession. And blues being suspect defensively with their insistence on playing it out from the back in very dangerous areas. I'm looking forward to it though 👍 should be a good'n
