I think there's something going on with Mullin's injury we don't know. If he's fully healed I don't see any reason not to start him at Burton - it's a team we should beat easily which gives a little more flexibility, no single goal scorer has stepped up that you need to have as the 10 role, and with Dobs/McClean out he's not taking anybody's place - you just move Lee back to midfield. Frankly hard to think of a more perfect game to give him 70+ - so the fact they didn't seems telling.

Congratulations on the award. Great pod too. Funniest for a while - the Macca story - although the Cambridge bloke could have been quizzed in more depth. Questions about ownership, Monk comeback at the Abbey and much more could have been asked for starters. Can’t agree that the Barnsley game was dull. Their keeper made 4/5 saves which kept them in the game and there were multiple outstanding performances apart from Dobson and McClean. Also not sure I agree re: Burton. That’s exactly the sort of game we have played many times in our history and mostly lost. The only team to have really beaten them at their place this season was Stockport with 2 of their 3 goals involving debatable refereeing decisions. Wycombe only beat them by the odd goal in 5. Normally that’s the sort of game where we’d have been knocking on the door; not taken out chances; gone a goal down and just never looked like getting back into it. Instead we played slightly deeper; mostly on the floor (compared to Stockport away) and played the percentages brilliantly. Never looked in danger.

Could have lost the first half hour for me but genuinely interesting again once the opposition arrived. Much to be admired in anyone running something about their club when times are hard so hang in there Ed. Highly amusing that Burton then go on to dominate and beat Posh and the caretaker he doesn’t want is suddenly very much in the frame. Football eh. Suspect the issue with their recruitment delay is around a real shortage of managers who buy into the data driven approach and the poor timing of losing their manager means anyone coming in is likely adding a relegation to their CV before the ship gets steadied. Lincoln performance and result was excellent. Hard also to fault the Barnsley performance. Back three plus Rathbone and James were outstanding. Lee might not want his new role but it’s set him free and Palmer was excellent too. MOTM for us in the centre of the Macron was Rathbone by a distance. Dobson must be close to being dropped at this point but bringing in James has set Rathbone free and i’ve gone from thinking he was just chasing air to seeing top class performances. MOTM even before the winning goal to be fair. A few misplaced passes from James against Barnsley but, let’s be honest, Bodvarsson is already done and we absolutely need James for the rest of this season. He’s running the show and is a joy to watch. Put Cannon in alongside him and watch us fly. Not confident of a result against Burton but if the back three play like they have in the past two games then we’ll be fine even with a third choice keeper. Can see Cannon coming in for Dobson. McCleans place also has to be under threat. He’s increasingly slow to react to threats; was repeatedly bailed out by Brunt and his tackling was lightweight and totally embarrassing in comparison to Rathbone. Don’t think we’ll be seeing O’Connor back at left back any more unless there are injuries. Brunt’s to lose now. He’s been superb. Don’t mind interchanging Tom with James in midfield though if it keeps the latter fit. For the record, chocolate in the fridge is just sick and wrong. Slightly melty chocolate on a sunny day gets maybe 5 minutes but that’s your lot. Interesting rumour in the centre of the Macron that Ryan and Rob have had something of a falling out. Have to say I can see why that’s gathering credibility. Seems even more credible that Harvey will be on his way soon (hurray) as Williamson continues to professionalise operations.

Hey guys, love the show. What a win against Barnsley! Given the injury to our #2 GK, is an option to bring back someone like Rob Lainton, who the club knows well, but is currently out of contract. Of course, I'm assuming he's fit right now. And while he never held up consistently over long periods, seems like he could add some nice depth til Arthur and Burton are back on their feet. Another crazy option is Loris Karius, who was out of contract at the start of the season.

I don't get why iFollow doesn't do replays of the women's matches. It did used to, at least for some of the games, last season. Sometimes a goal comes so quickly it would be nice to be able to see it again, and discover who actually scored :)
