1/ Slash (v): Negative meaning: cut something by knife violently Positive meaning: reduce something by significant amount To slash the risk of something 2/ Premature (a): earlier than expected or natural time Pre = before, mature = to be ready 3/ Run for your life: move as fast as possible away from danger Negative way: get out of/ move away from dangerous situation Positive way: doing helpful something now, the good result will come in future. A slow 50- minute jog a week is very effective to help live longer. It can not only slash the risk of health issues but also the premature dangers. Thus, we keep doing exercise to run for our life!

You never "cut" a cake or carrot. You should use the word "slice" for that. Respects from Mubushar Sulehria.
@bbclearningenglish4 жыл бұрын
Although we're sure chefs and cooks would agree with you, we commonly use 'cut' with 'cake'. In weddings there are often cake-cutting ceremonie where people gather to watch the bride and groom make the first cut (slice) into the cake. 😃

I think that those who simply can't run, or have difficulties to do it, have obviously a bad health, so they die earlier. But in another point of view, those who run often, will not stop being able to run, if they like it. So they will carry on their health to remain able to run.
