Impressed as always by your skill and instruction - but next time, more bloopers! LOL . You should consider facilitating Ukulele weddings dressed like Elvis (that thing you did with your upper lip - ha!!) .

JJ, I really enjoy your tutorials and I’m learning so much. I’m new to playing the ukelele but I was wondering about your G string being an octave lower than mine. Is that just another way to tune it?
@JJMilare2 жыл бұрын
Yes it’s another way to tune it but a low G string is thicker than the high G string. If you would like to try a low G, then you can buy a low G string set and change them out. Or try an ukulele that has a low G and see if you like it first

@@VideosfromAR oh wow that is recent! Which song have you learned the whole way thru so far?
@VideosfromAR2 жыл бұрын
@@JJMilare well, I can play along with Remember Me and Somewhere Over the Rainbow, but I have a long way to go in terms of technique and sound quality. The right hand will definitely take time (strumming, etc). I can also play along with Can't Help Falling in Love., though some of the chord changes are a little rough. Good thing I'm mostly just playing by myself! It takes me forever to memorize songs. Do you teach or perform on Maui? We'll be there for a short visit in early March. It would be cool to see you performing!
@JJMilare2 жыл бұрын
@@VideosfromAR wow so awesome! That’s a lot of songs since you just started and that’s a good pace! And yes I would say continue to practice those three and fine tune those strumming and chord switches as you practice. Practice makes permanent. It will get easier each time you play them :). And I used to teach and perform on Maui a lot but moved away from Maui during COVID 😢
@viewer802 жыл бұрын
Hi I'm a beginner. Just got my ukulele. When I listen to the strumming part, why does my top string sound so different? I checked my tuning, but it still sounds off. Do I need to tune my ukulele in a different way? This is such a great video! Can't wait to master this.
@JJMilare2 жыл бұрын
Hmm let’s see. The top string should be the G. Depending on your strings you may have the high G or low G string set. It may sound different due to the high and low, but should sound the same. Make sure you are tuning the top note to G?

I know it should be easy..But is there a easier way for Dm , Em and B7 plss?
@JJMilare3 жыл бұрын
For the Dm: you can barre the 5th fret. For the Em you can try barre the 7th fret. For the B7 you can try barre the 2nd fret then add your middle finger on 3rd fret of 3rd (C) string. Lmk if that helps :)
@vths6843 жыл бұрын
@@JJMilare What kind of chord should I use for the 5th fret , 7th fret and is there another easier thing for e7 pls
@JJMilare3 жыл бұрын
@@vths684 for the fifth fret, you can press all the strings for the Dm. And then for the 7th fret you can press all the strings for the Em. As for the easier way for E7, I haven’t thought of one yet, but if you know how to do the G7, the only difference is you are moving your pointer finger from the 2nd string up to the fourth string on the first fret. :). Lmk if that helps or if it’s not clear :)
