Can the Audi RS Q e-tron win Dakar?

The 2024 Dakar Rally is gearing up to be a thrilling spectacle of speed, endurance, and determination as the Red Bull Desert Wings squad prepares to tackle the challenging terrain of Saudi Arabia. The rally is scheduled to commence on January 5, 2024, and will encompass a grueling 5,000-kilometre racecourse divided into 12 challenging stages, with the grand finale taking place in Yanbu on January 19.
Team Audi Sport brings a formidable trio with a total of 17 Dakar titles between them. Carlos Sainz and Lucas Cruz, Stéphane Peterhansel and Edouard Boulanger, and Mattias Ekström and Emil Bergvist will pilot three Audi RS Q E-Trons, with fans eagerly anticipating their improvements and the FIA's adjustments to the 'Balance of Technologies' since their last desert showdown.

@@purwantiallan5089 afaik, it's a propulsion system that utilities an internal combustion engine as a generator to produce electricity which stored on relatively small battery package, that stored energy then used by an electric motor to drive the wheels.

I wouldn’t call it an hybrid. Its an electric car with a range extender. There is no power from the combustion engine going to the wheels, It only uses electric power.

Can they win? Sure. Will they win? That's the question. The Hilux proved to be just as fast and having better reliability than the Audi, and there's also Prodrive closely follows the Hilux in that area. Unless they solve it then i presume we will see more suspension woes coming from them again this year.

20/30% the motor always run at 5k RPM if I am not mistaken, which is max efficiency for that engine in particular. So the motor acts like a range extender instead of a normal hybrid.

It is still a type of electrification though and a concept that's been use like diesel-electric trains for example. Some small Nissan hatchbacks also uses the same concept. Now calling it a hybrid on the other hand is what bugs me instead.
