Unfortunately, this project is likely not to survive based on all of the negativity surrounding it. 1. Unreliable files (triggering “false positives”, which alone raises eyebrows for those unfamiliar with PC) 2. Lengthy/annoying download/install 3. A laundry list of error codes preventing players from enjoying the game 4. Already apparently hackers 5. Over 60% of the servers are just trickshot/sniper servers 6. Broken perks (Marathon/Pro does not give unlimited sprint. Cold Blooded/Pro does not work against Predator Missile, AC130, or Chopper) It’s not looking good.

This game could be super popular, but you mentioned a couple things that I agree with. - Not easily accessible, requires MW:R + download instructions for the H2M mod. That's already enough to turn a few people away. - No marketing whatsoever. So many people probably don't know this exists, or that it's now functioning despite the original devs complying with the cease and desist. - PC only removes thousands of gamers from ever having a chance to play.

PC only is literally in the fundamentals of these being mods/third party clients. Console support is never happening unless the developers allow modding support, which I mean you can tell Activision's stance on.

If H2M/SM2/Horizon has an actual launcher and the client sticks to solely the MW classic trilogy, it has a lot of potential for longevity. Hear me out, MWR engine with all multiplayer maps across the three original games polished for the engine. Keep all map variants from respective games to keep it fresh. All weapons, camos, and attachments, perks, kill-streaks from MW trilogy. Have the ability to switch anything off for your own server. Choose to either end the game with a nuke or change the map with a Moab. Survival mode from MW3 that can be played on any map. Original spec ops missions from MW2. Exact campaign maps across all three games that can be used for ground war or a warzone like BR mode with fully functioning vehicles and weather/lighting dynamics. Change your uniform depending on what faction you’re playing as from the original three games when you’re assigned to a map. (MWR heads can be put on Mw2 and MW3 uniforms) This can be a huge classic MW package all on one client. If another team wants to do an exclusive client for the jet pack cods, they can do that. (BO3/4, AW, IW)

The talk about basic movement in the old games is true. The thing I hate most about current CODs is the ridiculous movement, I'm getting old and my reactions aren't as good as they used to be. The insanely fast, sweaty, sliding and bunny hopping about etc is ridiculous, I literally cant compete anymore, I just cant keep up with it all. Its put me off COD all together and I have played since COD4. I played MW2 on the Xbox one the other day and its amazing how slow it feels. Humans move like humans.

I'm sure this has been articulated before, but it's pretty ironic this mod that had untold hours of work into it to bring a modernized, fully featured, and functional update to MW2 has been (or has the potential to be) left in a similar state to the original due to the C&D. Personally I just don't have time for it atm, but even if I did I'd share the sentiment that probably most of the initial interest demographic feels in that it's just really difficult to get invested and attached to anything with no continuous support or future whatsoever, and I'm sure that feeling is even more prevalent with younger players more accustomed to modern games with developing (seasonal) content/update shifts.

Personally in my opinion the player base that would play this game are just grown up. If you played mw2 when it came out you are likely now much older with adult responsibility’s full time job, kids ect. The current state of COD has become this super try hard competitive game and the people who played in 2009 one don’t have the time but also don’t wanna get on and play with these kids that are playing TDM like it’s an 10k tournament. The current crop of cod players also just don’t care because if you are 16 years old you were a baby when this game came out you don’t have any reason to go play an old COD.

Tried to play this game today. It is incredible hard to find a normal server and get a 9 vs 9 with real players going. 1st server I joined had no killstreaks enabled, 2nd server was filled with bots, 3rd server showed a fake player count of 17 in the server browser despite being nearly empty and the 4th server killed me for camping on a 20 killstreak while being in a AC130. The other populated servers were sniper / trickshot only which I personally don't like. Getting kicked out of the server after every round doesn't help either. So, yeah... already dead... kinda.

I still have yet to try it out but, I totally agree with you that the true hype would have been that everyone did a regular progression like in the old days! Even trickshoting could have gone back to its roots and be done in regular SnD lobbies which make them even more challenging/impressive... that being said more flexibility in private matches could suit their needs where for a given session you could choose to use a throwaway progression (where unlock all would be allowed) or use your current online progression and also advanced game settings/modding could be supported in there but not in regular lobbies

Hey Fortunate. The way I combat finding games is sorting by players, and joining a lobby with less than 16. I get in right away and some of them have rejoin on. I never try to touch a 17 cause you’ll get kicked instantly. Hope that helps

Admittedly, I think it's already dead. However, I'm willing to wait to see if HorizonMW releaes a client with matchmaking, but most importantly anti-cheat and progression. We waited over a decade for this. The hardcore fans can wait a little bit longer if they want a good experience. The server browsing system always was iffy. It will be what kills this game imo. There needs to be a way to search specifically for what u want, or host a game urself like original mw2. There is no pregame lobby feature, or anything. Almost every game I join is half way, or is over, and then I have to join another one. A lot of the original stuff that was destroyable is not present. It’s sad the mod got shut down, cause I bet all of this would’ve been solved in the future. It had so much potential.

I got perma banned off a low ping server (6 servers because they were all run by the same group) for trash talking by wolves. That killed some of the fun for me honestly. Game is fun though, but the moment Blops 6 drops everyone’s going back. Points you made like auto kick, and just installing the game in general make the game not easily accessible. Not to mention that people want to play classic COD, but every match I find is a sniping battle. I suck at sniping, but willing to learn however I don’t want to snipe every match. In my opinion, this is just one of those games where it was a nice wave of nostalgia for a month or two so we just have to enjoy it while it lasts

I usually never write comments, especially such long ones, but i just hope that u'll see this and maybe make a video about it. As much as i love this mod and Mw2 because i grew up with it, as same im sad to realize all the points i made. Imo the reason why many players stopped or more like, why theres mostly Quick/Trickshotters is basically because this hole mod is biased around that. Play the Intervention or any other Sniper with a Controller and u'll realize, how heavy the Aim assist locks onto your enemies, even through thinner walls, and even between bigger distances. Why? Because its literally the Singleplayer aim assist that lets your sniper do 95% of the aiming job, u just have to quickscope and shoot basically and somewhat look into your enemies direction. Of course, this also helps the other guns, but u will mostly feel a difference when having a Sniper, or a weapon with a big scope (thermal, acog) equipped. Tac Insertions are literally almost invisible, u really gotta check them corners carefully to not overlook them. If you have cold blooded equipped and your enemy plays with a Thermal scope (mostly sniper players obviously), they still see your Heat signature through the scope, its "bugged". Coincidence? Ion think so. AC130 & Chopper Gunner are also not affected by cold blooded, your enemies with cold blooded still have that red box around their character. Many Quickscopers on PC nowadays use so called "Color Scripts" which are not hacks, but literally give you a form of a Aimbot, which triggers the shots of your gun once the enemy Nametag appears once u aim onto them. This lets them hit their targets with ease and run around with a bolt action sniper as if its a UMP45. Ion deny that theres good sniper players, but in a lobby of 18 players they tryna tell me, 12 are godtier WASD Mitch snipers? Nah. U wanna test that out? Try using cold blooded pro (which makes your nametag invisible) and then see how many quickscopers switch to their thermal scope because its buggin and they just have to switch their colorscript from red to white. Theres servers which let you Elevate to the invisible end on the top of the map, which many trickshotters use to elevate up and hit, or imo, fake trickshots in real lobbies. Best server to check that is [EU] Mw2 Remastered [x2 XP/24/7] Again a coincidence? Hm. Players with a higher framerate (tested it with my homie) have faster shooting guns. My gun empties his magazine in 23 seconds, my homies in 24. Same weapon, same attachment, same perks n everything. Aight u could argue that its the older game engine basically, but yeah, still doesn't give any nostalgic vibes for my homie(s) if you know how big the hardware gap is. Marathon, no matter if Pro or not is completly changed. Back then it was giving you Unlimited Sprint in non Pro, and Faster climbing in pro. The way Marathon is working rn, is the way how it was in Black ops 1 with "extended sprinting". A thing that me personally don't care too much about it, but is a very big minus for my homies : Theres literally like 5 12 Player servers available, and nobody plays them. Playing Ground war all the time wasn't what we did back then so its not the same feeling as back then, but as i said, me personally don't care too much about it as my homies do. If we combine that with all the other points ive brought up, it feels most likely that the guys who leaked the mod, tried to turn a already good workin and somewhat "og balanced" iw4x mod into a New "Mw2 remastered" Sniper mods that feeds them with new players, because there was simply no new ones joining on iw4x because its too old of a game. Ion think that the Actual devs behind the real H2M tried to do that and i know that them had a different version of the game that was already mostly fixed and everything, but the version we got rn, is definitely not what the H2M devs tried to give us. Everything i stated was also tested by me and my homies, so we are not making something up, its actually like i state, you can test all this out by yourself. I opened a ticket with all the points ive made as well like 4-5 days ago, and still didn't get no reply yet, which kinda gives me the feeling that they intentionally ghost my criticism. I still enjoy playing the H2M mod, but yeah. Ion have fun playing against quickscopers too much, which lets me quit the game if i see that 90% of the lobbies switched to snipers.

Why not make a step by step tutorial video on how to get the game downloaded the right way with the files you used for your viewer base? Because it is still playable and to help make it more populated
