I love my Epson ET-8550 and bought it due to your high praise of it. It is great when paired with QImage software.

Hey there, Bought the xp15k in may especially for price and grey ink. The results are fantastic on RedRiver glossy and metallic papers. The grey ink is really a game changer in transitions and my sunrise/sunsets shots are just amazing. I was reluctant to buy it because it's long time since delivered by Epson, but finally I don't regret it. From far.

Is the Chroma Optimizer identical between the Pro-1, Pro-10, and Pro-1000 printers?

I just got an xp 15000 a few days ago and am very impressed so far. Using OEM inks that came with it.

Jose, is there a 17" large Format Printer with ink tank for pigment ink you would recommend? Or would you just refill the inkjet cartridges with pigment ink by Precision Colors?

1. Really tough to tell from a video 2. Even tougher to tell from a 1080p video that YT has compressed (can you record 4K?) 3. Yes the 8550 and XP 15K are really good

Joe, I am considering buying a Pro 1000. Should I stock up on twelve 700ml OEM cartridges at the time of purchase to lower the cost since I plan to keep it until it dies?

You mentioned that you used the ET-8550 with a custom profile because you are using Canon papers - I have a lot of Epson paper - do I need to create a custom profile for this printer using their profiles with their paper? Also please provide link for making your own custom profile. Thanks

Due to many praising reviews of 8550 I have also bought it recently, making it a pair to my trusty Pro-100. After testing the Epson for a few days, I've come yo a conclusion that prints from Pro-100 (with OEM inks) are much more beautiful! I can use on Pro-100 almost any paper with the proprietry icc profiles with very close results. There's almost no need to create custom profiles. With 8550 (with OEM inks) I have to create custom profiles (I have a Colomunki Photo) and still the prints look inferior. BW prints on papers with bad inkjet layers or without them at all look contrastier from 8550, it's true. However, there comes out a gloss differention, no one is mentioning about.

You must be getting paid a fortune from precision inks.

Don't know where you are getting this from but, I get ZERO $ from PC. They provide test inks for me to test before they are then released for sale and that is it.

What's amazing about the ET8550 is that it serves as an all-around workhorse, requiring minimal care and maintenance. My time is too important to be forever messing with technical issues when wanting to switch back and forth between business and photographic art. I can readily find brain damage elsewhere. 🤣
