EPSON ET 8550 OEM ink and XP 15k PCSE inks! Which is better?

I guess it would be possible to begin from scratch to fill pigment colors on a ET 8550 printer. But will I risk long term problems by doing that? My motive would be to prolong the life time and UV-resistance of the prints - plus to get more neutral grey b&w prints. If the answers are 'yes' and 'no' respectively - then which brand(s) of pigment colors would you suggest for ET 8550?

gotta say, the results here kinda surprised me. BUT because I use the XP15K I was happy to see the results. BTW I gifted a buddy a Red River Metallic Gloss print of his classic Chevy. He raves over it and shows everybody what a 'great' photo printer I am. Wink, Wink.

Which one is better for printing on canvas and or printing on DTF papers? I’m an artist who makes stationary so art prints and greeting cards stickers etc… and I’m wanting to put my art on tote bags t-shirts and aprons too. Thanks for the video btw very informative

Thanks for this video Jose! I’m trying to decide on the best printer for RC decals, does the better resolution on this printer outweigh the pigment inks and speed of the Epson 16650?

Decal media prefers good dye inks.

Hi Jose, I have just recently purchased a Canon Prograf Pro 300. Would you recommend me using third party ink cartridges, rather than Canon own brand? You help and wise thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Tony

No and I probably will not. I see no need to do so. Besides if you do, it should be done from the very beginning

I did it from the beginning with their ink and it works great!

@@fatimagonzalez9329 No, I haven't had it long at all. I checked out Precision Colors website and they state theirs has been running pigment ink for over 2 years. I bought mine from them. I haven't had any issues.

couple questions, can the et-8550 use "all pigment" ink? (no dye, period), also can i keep the extra ink tanks empty? i don't plan to use PB or GY ink, I just want CMYK. my reasoning is this: the wf-7840 does not support auto reset chips, the 16650 is too expensive (basically the et version of 7840), but I want to enjoy making 13x19 prints, t-shirt transfers, and stickers. can this printer do that for me? it MUST be T542 pigment ink.

No you can not have empty tanks.

Fyi, I just purchased an 8550 at Best Buy for “net” $525 after receiving $75 for a trade-in.
