Are there any tangible differences between the 100w and the 200w other than slightly different weight and different lcd? Went with the 100w just because I preferred the blue LCD and clean font to the digital clock font and orange.
@topsousvide2 ай бұрын
Temperature range is the primary difference. When I’m in a hurry to defrost (not for sous vide) the lower temps of the 100W come in handy. The 200W can get hotter (200F+) than 100W, but I’ve never needed the range above what the 100W is capable of. Hope that helps.
@gbinman7 ай бұрын
The noise difference was very useful information. Most of the time to heat material didn't interest me much, the sous vide process is most oblivious to time issues. I have a Nano that was acting up today so I had dust off an old Febote that I have. I'll order a Inkbird today, 200 seems a lot nicer and essentially the same price.

I’m considering getting the 200w for my brother for Christmas. I have the Anova 3.0 (after watching your reviews) but I’m beyond annoyed the app is a subscription. How does the Inkbird app compared to Anova? Anova won’t even send you a notice when the cook is done. Truly unbelievable. The app should be an added value not a subscription. Thanks. Love the channel.
@topsousvideАй бұрын
Yeah, that new subscription model for the app is a real bummer for new customers. INKBIRD app pales in comparison when it comes to recipes, etc. but if you know the time and temp you want, it certainly does the job.

@topsousvide Жыл бұрын
The isv200 and previous generation of Anova standard can handle the same amount of water. The recently released “new standard”, the Anova Precision Cooker 3.0 can handle more water than either. All three machines are well suited to cook for 6. Hope that helps.

@topsousvide Жыл бұрын
I'm sorry. That's frustrating. There are a few different EVERIE lids. It sounds like you may not have the universal version, which specifically lists INKBIRD as a compatible machine. I believe it's the silicone version of the lid. Any chance you could exchange your lid for the universal lid?

Thanks mate. I was looking at buying the Anova 1000w or the Anova 3.0 latest, but after watching your videos and hearing the sound that the Anova sous vide's make they really put me off. Now I am looking at the InkBird. Which is the latest and best InkBird in your estimation that you would recommend. The InkBird ISV-200W has a terrible red colour display which I'm not fond of by the way.
@topsousvide10 ай бұрын
Glad I could help! As you probably caught in this video, I prefer the 200W over the 100W for a variety of reasons. I’m generally not a fan of the 500W style of cooker. That leaves me at hoping the 200W display isn’t that off putting to you.😂

I think one disadvantage of the inkbird is, that you can't increase/decease temperatures in 0.1 increments at the device (only in the app). Seccon disadvantage could be, that anova has more brand recognition (is bigger) and sometimes Apps get deactivated if a small brand goes out of buisines or decides to move to an other App. But that are really very very small points.

Hi! any long term recommendation between the Anova, Inkbird and the Breville? the Anova get 2 is on sale here in Australia, is it a good purchase? still twice the price of Inkbird and the Breville is not available !
@topsousvide Жыл бұрын
If it’s not too difficult to get the Breville Turbo, I would recommend that. The added technology is well worth the bit of extra cost and Breville has maintained really good service. Next I’d say go with the INKBIRD. At half the cost I’d be willing to bet it lasts longer than half as long as the Anova. If you want promised protection for the first two years of ownership, go with the Anova. Hope that helps.
@theo-avl10 ай бұрын
I used the Inkbird ISV100 for about 15 months and the water sensor failed. It would report no water when in water. I asked the company and they replaced it for half price (out of warranty). The new one worked great - for two months. Then it failed too. I got most of my money back for the second one. Will not buy again. Too bad, it was great while it lasted.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My 200W hasn’t had any issues in the time I’ve used it. It sounds like customer service at least went beyond what they were obligated to do. That said, disappointing to hear from a reliability perspective. Important to keep in mind the 100W is the first generation, which generally is prone to more malfunction.
