@@user-fg6xg5fd4v nope, fire giant is coded to keep rolling like that if the player (furnace golem in this case, basically just whatever its fighting) isnt far enough away from him at the end of his roll, meaning that wasnt a bug in the code, just a weird choice the devs made

He's actually coded perfectly, it just seems odd from an outside perspective. Fire Giant is coded to roll away from the player, and if he's farther than a certain distance, he'll phase into 1.5 and start using fire. If he cannot reach this distance, he will roll again in an attempt to reach it. He will do this infinitely if he cannot outspace the player. This code seems to have applied to fighting the furnace golem as well.

Enemy AI can only target the Furnace Golem's face, this was done so your spirit ashes couldn't just intentionally go after its legs to make stance breaking these things easier. FromSoft went out of their way to make these things as tedious as physically possible

You realise that’s the best way to kill them right? You’re not meant to attack the legs. There’s literally an in game hint telling you this lol saying “light a fire in its belly” or something. Fire/explosives inside the bowl on its head is the best way to damage these. Trying to attack the legs is just asking for assisted suicide lmao

The first one you see is in a wide, flat field lol, how could you attack its face/bowl if you're running a melee build? Of course you're meant to attack its legs

I know he’s way weaker without dd, that’s literally why they gave him sh*t stats but as I said he can still do damage, his sword and dd projectiles can deal damage even without the destined death effect. Go watch him fight the furnace golem in Bjorn's vid, he did pretty good even though he missed a lot of attacks (because of the sh*t hitboxes) and his DOT wasn't working.

It took me 20 minutes to kill a fire golem on journey 8. I thought to myself this is the definition of insanity..... they must have 100,000 hp or more on journey 8 at least. I know consort Rahdan has to have at least 90,000 HP. One shot will kill you with 2000 hp.

On NG+ the weakest Furnace golem has 108k and the strongest is roughly 230k consort of radahn is at 47k and NG+7 is in the 80s

Watching the Fire Giant and the Furnace Golem fight was pretty epic. Not just in a "Hell yeah, Kaiju fight" kind of way, but from a lore stance as well. Honest question, though... did you make it so the Furnace Golem couldn't be stance broken? I was watching the feetsies, they got hit a *lot*. (Fun fact: Knocking down a Furnace Golem isn't so much about poise damage as it is about the number of hits it takes. You'll have better luck stunning them if you use something fast like the martial arts weapons rather than something heavy and hard-hitting)
