+micah laene it's "like pot roast" because you cook it in liquid for hours so that the fat and ligaments break down and provide flavor. They're not identical cooking methods, but chuck meat (what's normally used for pot roast) and oxtail are similar in that they have a ton of cartilage and fat, and they require a long cook time to make tender.

Nadine Arlert i'm from Martinique and we share a lot with Jamaica SHOUTOUT TO ALL CARRIBBEANS BUZZFEED VIEWERS you can't forget about the coconut x) and the Colombo sauce did you ate the "pain au beurre" a kind of braided sweet bun, the coco cake, the coco sorbet,fried fish,"igname",manioc ,sweet potato,calamar i think it is, accras ,bokits we also cook all the parts of the pig lol the nose the ears the paws the tails etc we eat crab "langouste" homard a lot of sea food... the fruits are "kennets" i think, litchi, mangos and the vegetables are christophines fruit-à-pain (yes it's a vegetable xD), pomme-cannelle... as we talk french in Martinique some of the names are in this langage even if we have our creol I may be wrong but I think that Caribbean are on America like it's part of the continent isn't it ?

Imanbrownful i was so annoyed it was not a good representation. The Caribbean is made of many islands and every island has their unique taste. It was offensive not to mention we Caribbean people do not fancy most American and European meals but i would never say ewwe i would just say the taste is different to what i am use to.

Ratho R guinep and ackee are two different things in Jamaica. Guinep is a little green fruit kind of like a lychee nut but it's pink and slightly sour and sweet. Ackee is well... ackee.
