This is SM's entry into the microbrand world. Such a stunner! Love the dial and the bracelet. The clasp is cool too. Olivier - you did make ma laugh out loud, however. You said the dial wasnt 3 dimensional, it was unidimensional. You meant 2 dimensional.... unidimensional is a point (kind of). But then again, I'm a big ol' nerd If this one is less than $300 in the sale, I'm buying this one.

I know many are over the moon about the bracelet but I don't like it. It kind of looks like an armour. Back during the corona pandemic San Martin did use Miyota 8215 that didn't hack for some of their models when there was a shortage of Seiko NH movements.

I managed to pick up a 42mm version in the last sale for a surprising £175. I didnt think i was going to get it because it has took them nine and a half days to ship. Yes it finally got shipped today so i am pretty excited now for it to arrive to me in the UK.. 😁

I've only seen one review that discussed the lack of flexibility in the bracelet due to the very, very tight tolerances. I don't mean a lack of flexibility when it's on your wrist, because the tolerances allow it to bend around your wrist, but when you have it off you can't lay it flat on the table. That might be disconcerting to some people. But it's just a design decision SM made to have really tight tolerances, in order to make the bracelet look good when you're wearing it. I love SM finishing. What i really love is thst the reflections on the lugd and the links are almost exactly the same. Take a look at that endlink shot - the horizontal light and dark bands almost match exactly. That's an unreal level of consistancy. A couple of my SM that i wear on a bracelet have that same consistency and sometimes I glance down and see it qnd I'm still amazed.

SM does indeed offer a chronograph watch equipped with the Miyota 9120 movement, and another model that's an homage to the PRX, which uses the Miyota 9015. The dial design of the PRX homage is particularly appealing to me, but I'm uncertain about its overall build quality. It seems this watch hasn't received the recognition it perhaps deserves.

Lovely dial. Wish they’d remove the AUTOMATIC and or minimize the text so we can see more of that stunning dial. Maybe put “auto/100m” at the very bottom where we usually see Swiss made or better yet put it on the case back

I came here from another review guy that said the new clasp is 1 mm smaller and the holes on the sides are hidden,, I did not hear you mention it, but the on-the-fly adjustment looks larger so that evens out, I think. It looks like a higher end, do it all piece. I'd like to order me the yellow one,,after Christmas, if they are still there. The 10 mm thickness lets it sit just right. Looks like it could be a part of myself. But man, thanks for the review!

Just ordered one thanks for the link to the EU warehouse set up. I have been watching this watch for some weeks and seen many reviews. I think for the money the spec, finish and quality are unbeatable. I live in France and should get mine later this week. I have a 7 and a quarter inch wrist and my daily wear is a 41mm Rolex Sub which I adore but find it a little heavy and am always worried about bashing it, so this new watch will be a great addition to my little collection.

​@@Alienmoonbathin how big are your wrist? I have 8 inch wrist, and this watch fits just fine. The watch wears bigger than a 42mm diver, because the Dial is larger than the 28.5mm dial most divers have. This won't look small on wrist, even if your wrist is on the larger side.

Yeah, the case is very plain, bur that's what happens when you're trying to be orginal, you become limited on the design. The bracelet is great, really wish they'd make that GS style bracelet they made only once before, it was identical in quality to the GS bracelet. The only downside to the watch was the bland dial they put on the watch.

@@gilbertoflores7397 the hands are most boring and too flat. i would suggest them to use hands with more facets, like sharp dolphin hands, which would be more commensurate with the overall design. also sizing it down to 38mm it would then look more delicate 😅

@@daveho852 is 1mm difference really that significant? They used these hands and markers from their old design/watch, they want to make this their signature I'm guessing. But you're right, they should probably add more detail or dynamic finishing to it, to make it more premium looking. The Erebus Ascent hands are incredible, the rest of the watch is bland too. So many almost perfect watches available, but we can't get one brand that combines all the details we'd need in a perfect watch.
