Unless your racing Mx it’s not that big of deal, especially with lower rpm’s. Even 50:1 premix would still have plenty of oil left for lubrication also think of the residual oil left after throttle is closed. Now don’t get me wrong if you are pinned in 5th or 6th and close the throttle then you might see some problems after repetitions of that but again to each his own. I engine brake my trail modded kx100 constantly and that little motor makes it to 100 hours before rebuilds. Im on my 2nd top end after picking the bike up 4 years ago.

Wow, great video! I always wondered how an 85 2 stroke would stack up against a 150R. I cant say I’m surprised. 85cc is almost lmost half the displacement of the 150R.

The 85 takes the top end speed but the 150r can out accel it

i smoked 150r guy on 85kx i was WTF but i forgot im 110lbs and guy was 180 xd

@@Liske- a kx 85 will be harder to ride on the track but it will always be able to win. I switched from kx 125 to 250f bc they're simply easier to ride

when the 150r came out in '07 i used to race the 85 super mini class, they had a hard time letting the 150s in, but once they did.... it was over with, no one could compete against it, dont get me wrong, we had some fast riders but it didnt take much for them to switch over or start sneakin in their big bore 85s. it was a mess, tottaly ruined motocross. if you ask me. they are cool dont get me wrong, i love them. but ill always have a place in my heart for my 2005 RM85.

Usually I like to stay around 40 to 1 50 to 1 on heavy race or hard riding might be a little bit lean on oil. Just casual riding 50 to 1 usually ok

Small words of advice... stop using the clutch to shift gears. Otherwise nice little comparison video👍

@@bearkreekboys bikes have constant mesh transmissions. There is no need to use the clutch to shift, it just slows you down. All u need is a very quick blip of the throttle to unload the transmission to upshift. Just takes a little practice to get your timing right. I'm sure there are videos on KZbin explaining all of this.

@@bunnyman6321 generally yes on a downshift, it can be hard on the trans/shift forks do downshift...unless u blip the throttle like an upshift. Newer street bike have "autoblip" for clutchless downshifts. But generally just on upshifts

@greenturbo1047 These are dirt bikes not street bikes. If you racing dirt bikes you don't downshift with clutch. As long as a load is not on transmission when downshifting you don't need clutch . Not using the clutch on the upsdhift is what put more wear and tear on transmission. If you racing for money and have factory support or deep pockets up shift with no clutch is cool. For average person then shift with clutch is OK. Plenty of mx champions upshift with clutch. I'll smoke any day of the week in motocross, or supercross.

bro its a 150cc vs a 85cc for 85cc to be that close is a win 2 strokes are better simply because the price to repair cr500 are just as fast as 450s they just have different power bands you know nothing but you think you do just because they are in same class doesnt mean they are the same also i used to have a BIG bore kx100 that i won 3 midwest championships on vs kids on the 150s and i would pull holeshots everytime my big wheel kx100 was a bad mother fucker you dont know shit about bikes HOMEBOY FUCK OUTTA THE COMMENTS you ride fucking ev little toy fucking bikes on the street with your grown ass hood friends on kids bikes made for 11 to 13 year olds to race on a track ya fuck twat
