A bad one too. I fear for the future now more than ever. Robots? Are you serious? It's bad enough with social media and kids not wanting to have face to face conversations like normal human beings and now they wanna force robots onto them? That's so gross man. I say this as an introvert myself but even though I'm a reserved person, I still like to have conversations with others face to face. It makes me feel human. Ironically, the people that are in favor of this are the same ones saying "omg, life seemed so much more fun back then". Yea i wonder why.

@bandicootcollector
@bandicootcollector 9 ай бұрын
I can type at 140wpm which is a lot faster than the average 65wpm. Some people can type faster but rarely over 200wpm without training on specific phrases, and then their speed is limited to those phrases. You can get over 300wpm if you're using shorthand, like a court typist, so that could be done. However, it's not such a far leap from the tech we use daily. Our phones can recognise our voice and type for us, Alexa and Cortana can respond to our vocal commands, ChatGPT can respond to questions at great length and have conversations, and text- to- speech is incredibly old by today's standards. Link that tech together, and you can have a pretty fluid conversation.

@pixeljauntvr7774 The point of my comment was that people are seriously looking at this AI thing like it's another human who you can have a conversation with in person. Forget social media platforms like here on KZbin, where I'm writing this. I get that. Comments online are just what they are, comments. But trying to have an actual conversation with a robot is just weird, dude. That's so dumb and that really doesn't have much purpose in our lives. I think social media is enough tbh.

To make real ai The machine would need access to all the bad things that make us human. Pain, discomfort, depression, anxiety loss, anguish, anger, desperation, obsession the list goes on. If the machine is just been guided down a certain path of decision making by its creators How is it anything more then a complex computer program None the less It is impressive But I just consider ai To be something that’s free and able to grow through experience creating it’s own unique personality all I see is an algorithmically generated script with source information provided by the internet Again it’s impressive But it’s basically just a massively upgraded customer service automatic response bot Attached to a Siri xD

Cool but it is still robotic in the slow way it moves and its way of expressing itself, it does not look totally like a real actual person, I wait for the day and era in which such robots would be way more realistic in the way they express emotions and their minds would be even more advanced to the point of not being so robotic anymore, they would become so much more advanced on any level that they would become totally organic in the way they would look/express themselves/move/think and then it would be actually a something serious to consider having as a partner or just a helper in people's homes ETC, the future of robotics and AI is very bright it seems, hopefully they would become to be that way in the future and humans would keep developing them faster and faster using AGI at some point.

LLM are not true AI...they are in the path, but we are still not there. Understanding language is pretty easy for a comp, honestly. Im not a conspiracy theorist or an alarmist but its like scientists have never watched any sci-fi futuristic movies. AI can only end one way eventually and its not going to be good.

Hmm ... we've all(?) read sci-fi stories about sentient robots and computers. Some of us may be familiar with the ending of one such story where scientists have connected every single computer on Earth into a vast network which includes communications and power supplies, you name it this computer is connected into "everything". (Clearly the author had anticipated the internet and especially the "internet of things".) When the computer network is finally up and tested across the planet the scientists decide to ask their computer the most searching question they can think of. They type in the question, "Is there a God?" A few moments later comes the reply ... "There is now". And a bolt from the blue melts the on/off switch into the permanently "on" position. So, if this robot and associated computer program, "knows" about that story and Susan Calman ... then it could be sentient enough to keep it's gob shut.

I dont know, there are LOTS of people that have no one to talk to... These are great for loneliness. Companions ( and I am SURE they are already working on the more physical ( a nod is a good as a wink to a blind bat) version of it to come in all your favorite styles and with attachments )

@@luzr6613 ? 1) vegans ( and that term only applies to humans bud) actually may have lower IQ due to a lack of multiple chemicals we get from meat :) 2) You seem to just be trolling, and I will give you that it is different.
