West Vancouver seniors paired up with AI robots

Well this is just great, rather than giving elderly people liberty to come and go as they please from their homes... we can just lock them up and give them a robot puppy to keep them occupied until we wait for them to die. FFS... this is hell.

They were not created to be company, but for people with Alzheimer’s, they are AI and develop a bond and learn about their person and they are able to answer questions when the person is confused. Plus, it is not locking anyone up, they are in a senior home because they chose to be there or their families put them there and this can have many reasons, including health reasons, people with dementia can’t be alone, for example, or people with mobility issues, unfortunately this is a consequence of aging, we become more dependent and vulnerable. I believe family is family and they should receive their family visit, but let’s be honest? The younger have to work and even if they show up everyday there, it will be an hour interaction in their day and they are human beings, need much more interaction than one hour a day. The robot help to improve their lives, to soothe the loneliness, so be it.

None of us want to sit there all day talking to somebody that doesn’t even know who we are anymore at that point the soul has left the body so we can just put a little robot in the room and be done with it that would be perfect.
