Ark: Survival Evolved 255 - Everything you need to know about the new Electrophorus! The Electrophorus could be considered the Troodon of the ocean, because it's so dang annoying! You could be minding your own business and one of these eels could come up behind you and ruin your day in a few seconds! You could also use them to your advantage by taming a squad of them to have as back up support. The stun effect could easily change the outcome of an underwater battle.

* C4-carrying Flyers now move at a fixed slow speed.
* Item Stats on all Official Servers are now clamped to negate the old no-longer-achievable OP items generated by then-unbalanced Fishing Rod.
* Added option for per-Tribe Dino Tame limit, enabling on Official PvE servers with a max of 500 Dinos Per Tribe (with on-screen indicator of Tribe Dino count). To use it, run with ?MaxPersonalTamedDinos=Number
* Added option to auto-destroy claimable decayed dinos on load, rather than have them remain around as Claimable. To use this, run with ?AutoDestroyDecayedDinos=true. Official PvE servers now have this enabled.
* Various network optimizations. Major rendering and threading optimizations to come in subsequent minor version update.
Wild
Occupying a space in the low-to-middle end of the food chain, Electrophorus beluadomito is a carnivorous swimmer that feeds mostly off of shellfish and small fish. Despite its common name, it is actually a very long knifefish, and not an eel. It does not provide much meat, so many predators simply leave it be. Unlike most predators, it does not use brute strength to bring down its prey, but instead releases an electrical charge around itself to knock its prey unconscious. Alone, this can take out a small creature. When attacking together, Electrophorus can even bring down the larger ocean lifeforms, then feed as a group.
Domesticated
By far, the most common use of Electrophorus is to subdue large ocean creatures. Knocking out a Plesiosaur or other giant deep-sea leviathan can be incredibly difficult, thus many tribes employ small schools of Electrophorus to shock targets into submission!

After observing the eel’s behavior I think I might have theorized an idea on how to shock tame animals with the eels. how they zap you and run away to recharge and come back for round two sounds kind of similar to how the 4 second rule works -where you shoot a creature with a tranq arrow or dart and wait a few seconds before putting another one in it again. So here’s a theoretical idea I thought of and I think someone should test out to see if it might work: Tame a whole bunch of eels (level their health and melee damage to a decent level). Set your eels to follow you (make sure you don’t get trapped in them). Once you find a target whistle attack your target and watch as they swarm and zap your victim. Once they are finished with their shock attack, immediately whistle them to passive so they swim back over to you and wait a few seconds as they recharge. Then do the same thing over and over again and see if it works. Tell me if it works or not. I would love to know.

there was this part of the island that was the safest but most annoying place to travel, its the deeper coast of the southeast shore and the herbavore isle, not a lot of megalodons but a metric tonne of Ichthy. one time I was out looking for pearls with my Mosasaur Percy for protection and so many gathered that they LIFTED HIM OUT OF THE WATER. I had to smack a few to rescue my Poor Mosa. from then on i named that area the Ichthy Mob strait and marked it on my map.

The easiest way to tame them is to own a Basilosaurus, do your best to single out the highest level of a pack or at least just one of them, let them shock, then feed them after the shock is done. Rinse and repeat.

ThickFreedom a tribe member and I went to one of the underwater caves with a tuso and a plesi and as soon as we came in a horde of eels swarmed our tuso, so as any response I tried to help by using the plesi but it just got trapped in the same bs as the tuso and they eventually died because they couldn't attack or move. after that encounter I believe the underwater caves are impossible now and think that the eels should be nerfed were it doesn't stun the Dino's anymore, it can still stun you that's fine. What do you think?

you have 4 options for eels and none of them are great. 1st a basilosaurus(whale) is unaffected by the shock / stun so can deal with them very nicely. 2 the squid can outrange em but have to see em coming 3 if animal is caught by them by whistling passive and swimming away it will eventually free itself then you can hop on and run( works about 90% of the time) but it will take a while for it to free itself and will take alot of damage in the mean time. 4 and i haven't properly tested this but when i was taming mantas i had bugspray on it seemed to lower their agro radius like it does with mantas and bugs this needs to be properly tested so dont bank on it but feel free to give it a go and test.id be interested to hear your results :)

Attention anyone who plays official Ark on xboxone and needs someone to wipe: On official server 103 a huge mega Alpha Tribe called Toad People have 10+ enormous metal bases and have taken over our server. If another super mega tribe wants to attempt to wipe them it would be great! Any tribe with names like toad people or hypo toads need to just get obliterated.
