i kinda wish i tried out more weapons but i loved GS and lance, lance especially was a much needed update to move set and GS was so much more active than previous

I feel like all of the weapons are much more active and engaging. Legit, it's been a fantastic experience seeing how they've shaped up, and there's more "control" to them, which I like. I may not prefer some of the changes, but it'll be a fun adjustment. I'm ready for something new.

Rey dao is the best for testing your skills, he's a lot more fair than demo hunts against flagships are. He's not 1-shotting you with nearly every move. I'd say my favorite to hunt in this was balahara. He's the perfect middle ground for testing weapons. Getting use to them, while still having fun with a real fight that's not too easy or a pain in the neck. SA on balahara was the most fun I had in the demo, as a whole. Rey dao was fun too, especially with SA and GL, but not quite as much. Killing rey dao with 8 different weapons was a good time. Those were; hammer, HH, lance, GL, SA,CB, IG, and LBG for the lols. Did a meme play style, ignoring LBG's shorter range, seeing how much I could shoot him without him really attacking me. Getting orange buff on this guy, conventionally, was a huge pain. My bug kept hitting other stuff, before hitting his torso. I was refusing to use focus/assist kinsect mode, I wanted to fight him the normal way. I had to be almost touching him to get it. I imagine that, if I used focus mode, I'd still be in dam near melee range of his chest but I'd have gotten it more consistently. I swear, I never got orange buff from the rising spiral slash. Holy shit! I never considered the small monsters buffs, makes perfect sense that those things would have orange buff. Dam it, past me, you were an idiot lmao. Seeing how the lightning messes up doshaguma, I can't wait to see how other hazards mess up the monsters. Like the water currents in the scarlet forest, the heat in the oilwell basin, and the cold in the inevitable ice map.

Rey Dau was definitely the biggest challenge of the Beta, but tbh, I think the variety of attacks and movements with the Bahalara was a better representation of the flow of Monster Hunter combat. It had a wider range of animations, and while they were easy to telegraph, it really helped get a good feel for the game. Rey Dau's attacks were just fast. LOL. Orange buff was a *pain*. Honestly, it's a lot easier, imho, instead of using the conventional method or even the rising spiral slash, to use Focus Mode to target the wounds. Granted, that also means you have to have wounds available to pop to ensure you can get your buffs back. But yeah, those Ceratonoth came in clutch! Also, on the mention of hazards in the ice map, do you think we might see breakable ice like we did in Hoarfrost Reach, where the ice collapses underneath you?

@@CoyoteWildfire Hmm ice collapsing would be fun. I'd hope there's more too it than simply falling in and being warped to another zone if you fall in. No instant death from falling out of the map but something like an effect of being in freezing water, from falling through the ice. At mimimum maybe water and ice blight at once that you can't get rid of until you get out of the water for a few seconds.

nice I beat Rey Dau with each weapon but the highlight of each hunt was enjoying its moveset and alien like noises hunted with two other players while I mained GL and CB on the last Rey Dau! good job @lrpearlbooks
