Agreed. One time I got so nervous if I was gonna get a 10 page homework done in 2 days.. I passed out in that specific class and didn't wake up for 6 1/2 hours 6 1/2 hours is how long I studied. And I got finished that night and stayed up til two am and I'm only in 6th grade...

Math homeworks took me 24 hours or more to complete and my mom forced me to do homework. Plus my math teacher is really a homework laying teacher she's like a homework dispenser. Basically all my teachers are. And I got bullied at school because I got bad grades at school and my mom confiscated my phone till 1 week because of not done homeworks. And my classmates seems to like the teacher. When that teacher comes to my class I got furious like wildfire in my brain. It's just too much for me. When holidays comes I cooldown myself at home

Exactly!! I go to school and then come home to 8 hours worth of homework. Teachers expect all of our respect, but don’t have the slightest bit of respect for students. Who are they to tell me what to wear, say, eat, and do. Not only that, but teachers take students’ property everyday as if they bought it and could possibly damage it. We also get in trouble for being late, which majority the time isn’t even our fault, but rather our parents’ fault.

I remember passing out one time doing a project because I was just so tired. I woke up at 2am feeling gross and kept working until 5am. I went to bed and woke up at 7am to go to school. Last year, I remember being assigned a lot of homework before Christmas. My family watched a movie, while I sat hunched over my computer until ( I started at 10:00 pm )2am trying to finish my assignment. By the time I finished, the movie was over and everyone went to bed while my head throbbed. I looked forward to Christmas eve. :(

Lauren DIY I know right! Especially high school math! Seriously, there are four basic skills of math that we need to learn for the future: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division! That is all we need to know, and in high school, they should teach us how to manage money in the real world with those four methods, but nope! What do we get! Some random ass worksheets on square roots that I will forget the next fucking day! Meanwhile I am still trying to figure out how 2x(5x+b) is going to help me pay my bills and count correctly! Last year (9th grade) I took all advanced classes. Over Christmas break I had a 12 page packet of algebraic equations along with map sketches for geography along with an assignment to read the entire Charles Dickens novel, A Christmas Carol and answer about 40 questions from the story. I did homework the entire plane ride to my grandparents house (East Texas to New York City) and still had assignments to finish while I was there. I was cooped up in the guest bedroom doing homework the entire time and never spent time with my family. I even began getting anxiety attacks and vomiting because of the stress and nervousness from the work. I did homework the entire 2- week break and barely took time to eat or sleep. I lost about 5 pounds that Christmas break and I've never gained them back because the homework load only got worse from there. I'm a 5'3 16 year old girl and I weigh 96 pounds because I don't have time to eat or sleep from homework and studying. My hair even began to fall out.

+IsThisRealLife I agree and I feel your pain. I have horror stories that I'd like to tell. One time back 6th Grade, my teacher gave me homework to do over the weekend. At first I thought it was no big deal. It took me an hour to go over math, english, and science but when I got around to doing my homework assignment for health class it took me an entire weekend to go over the entire assignment. Me and my dad spent hours going through it. It was like 8 questions and they were about 'What products or brands you should watch out for and buy from the store?' Is it really necessary for 6th graders to know this kind of crap? When I turned it in, the teacher didn't even grade it, he just looked at it. One time in 7th Grade, my health teacher gave us 2 chapter reviews on Halloween night. One time in 8th Grade, my math teacher gave me a page of math problems to do. I made sure that I did the work, showed the work, and corrected the work before I turned it in the next day. The teacher marked every single problem wrong and told me to re-do it and gave me another page of math problems to do and marked them wrong as well. I had to re-do the same fucking paper 3 times and then I got pissed off and told my dad that my math teacher keeps marking my homework wrong even though I got every equation right. My dad even checked it and then my teacher calls my dad and says that 'I'm in danger of failing.' My dad threatened to call the school administration bcz my teacher was being a bitch. One time in 10th Grade, I come to school from a doctor appointment and I barely had time to eat and the minute I walked into the classroom I told them the reason why I was late and I needed to eat and they told me to hurry up bcz we have a test to take. Two years ago when I was in college I had tons of homework on Thanksgiving and it took me 6 hours to do it all. Nobody should have to have too much homework on Thanksgiving or over the Holidays, even if you're in college. On the Holidays you should be spending time with family and friends, not hitting the books. A couple of months later they made me take algebra, which is my worst subject bcz i suck at math, and I was pissed. I had to have my dad help me with it. It took us 5 hours to do one assignment every night and it took away my time to lift weights and work out. By the time I was done I was exhausted. Also when I was in college I never had any breaks between semesters unless it was over the holidays. When I did have time off from school over the holidays, I was sick, which means I was spending time in the bathroom vomiting and having diarrhea. When I was almost done with college I found myself falling asleep while doing my homework and I was failing my classes bcz all I had time for was go to work and come home and do my homework, there was no free time.

It's not just the amount of studying it's also how hard the work has become. My grade 2 daughter is doing homework i can't even understand sometimes. Words that a 7 year old haven't even heard before. Its absurd. And they wonder why kids fail. The school system is failing them. The whole point about school is to make it fun learning. But everything is hard, stressful, and useless. They won't use most of this later on either which makes it frustrating. I teach my daughter more important things in a day regarding real life matters that she can use now AND later on in life then school ever has.

Everything in this video is what I feel. When I sleep I have anxiety of falling when almost about to sleep. Depression, Nervous when not finishing one book of homework. I have stomachache. finland has got smart ppl, yet finland got: free education from kindergarten til college/uni, no homework, all classwork, the only exam in school is during be4 students go to college/uni. i remember during the covid pandemic, school closed for a long time so classes weren’t there so we were assigned w/ assignments & extra work. ~10 assignments & extra 2 or 3 work sometimes every day from monday to friday every week, i was super burnt out - this happened for like around a yr & a 1/2. & also during summer covid (2020), just stayed in my room nonstop doing paper work, GCSEs were coming as well & it got even harder as i picked 1 of the wrong subjects for me for GCSEs as a mistake, art, had to do hours & hours of drawing but then i just scribbled & lost interest in that subject lol - GCSEs in a UK education system thing for ending 2ndary (high) school. lockdown, barely any1 outside, me just in my room work work work work work work work, even got harder i lost many of my friends (not dead but yk, many went toxic). also GCSEs was a time be4 we go to college or 6th form college & it had a lot of pressure from non stop work (sounds like a joke), but covid made everything worse. there was 1 point during covid when i felt like dying no joke, fast forward to 2024, most bad things r gone now

I thought this culture had been thrown out but iam still going thru this . Not just i was unable to do things that i personally planned to do but i can’t even get enough sleep time just to do homeworks that are given by teachers. I wanna blame the long school hours. Like 10hours at school?? Prison bro they cant even let us out during our break

I'm in 7th and I literally have all those symptoms I hate that I'm failing bc of the fact that I have missing assignments I would be passing and I can't even focus because I'm worried about the work and trying to plan ahead to see how I'm going to get all this work done

11th grade on average I have 4 hours of homework. The problem is my classes don’t have enough time to go over the materials either so classwork becomes homework.
