I think as fans it’s so frustrating when Ange brings on Skipp when we’re losing a game over Donley for example. There is no way some of these kids don’t do more then some of these so called first teamers

I am more excited about the near future of Spurs than I've ever been, that academy squad and the quality they are showing, Bergvall and Dragusin choosing us over really big teams, talents like Sarr and Udogie signing huge contracts, Postecoglou caring about every aspect of the club, it's really looking like something special is coming in the next couple years, finally!
@CaptainHowdy-mw9vc8 ай бұрын
The lack of cohesion between the academy and the first team is probably the biggest failing of the club in the modern era. The reason why Man City and Liverpool can produce the likes of Oscar Bobb, Cole Palmer, Connor Bradley etc, who fit seamlessly into their fist teams, is because they have been raised in the culture of the club since day one. Having the academy play one system and the first team play another would be like training sous chefs to only flip burgers and then expect them to be able to create high end cuisine by the time they get to the kitchen. Football clubs should have a brand mission and that should remain consistent from day one.

You can’t tell a youth player the gap is essentially too big, how are they meant to bridge that gap without any meaningful in game minutes not just 2mins at the end of a game. I agree 100% with this comment - I've heard about all these 'changes' - people at the club talking about the 'changes', & I've yet to hear an example of a change that has been made by AP. He wants to change the culture - how has he gone about this in practical terms? Was it George Graham who removed the TV from the treatment room? Something like that. Admittedly it may be different as a journalist - where you are reporting speech - but as a non-fiction writer I have to support my thesis or contentions. With your vlogger hat on an example to illustrate the point wouldn't go amiss. Many thanks.

Thanks, Alasdair for spending a good amount of time discussing the academy players. I did watch the highlights of the U21 game and some of the play was awesome. It is fascinating and exciting to imagine what might happen in the future with some of those players. I would like to see Jamie Donley on the bench as a backup to Madison and for him to be given 20-30 minutes game time. Long enough for him to lose any nerves and settle into a rhythm. With Spurs hopefully having some form of European football next season and going further in at least one of the cups I would not send Donley out on loan but plan to give him a lot more game time with Spurs next season. I agree with you that we definitely need celebrations at Tottenham as soon as possible. Maybe one or two of the academy kids can help the team achieve success.

I dont know how any spurs fan can take the league cup seriously when we know the club have treated it with utter contempt. To be fair I rather we focus on the league too. As for Postlecoglou promoting the youth, he's a guy who you have to watch what he does rather than what he says. Skipp has been largely sidelined and phillips was ignored when we had no CB's. He also talks of more transfer windows needed to fix the side which is counter to bringing players through. He not necessarily wrong to do this if the goal is to win something in the short time he'll be here. Souness was a very unpleasant player, but won the lot. He's one that got away.

It's been way too long since we last won anything. For a supposedly big 6 team, it's frankly nor good enough.2 cups in 30 years is not good enough. Enic, Daniel Levy, and the board do have responsibility for that. We came close under Poch, and yesterday's cup final with Chelsea reminded me of Spurs in recent years on big occasions (even though Chelsea looked threatening). However, for once, I do have optimism that this appointment of Ange is what this club needed. Like Klopp at Liverpool, we have to nurture youth and invest where the club needs. It's a long road ahead. We may have to endure another season or two before we win anything. However I feel we are on the right path. 👍

I'd be very interested to hear about any misgivings you may have about "Angeball"? You have been almost exclusively positive so far but I just wonder if perhaps now, you may suspect thatPosteciglu's stated determination to stick with Plan "A" (there is no Plan "B" anyway...) no matter what will start to cost us more and more as other teams become more clued in on how to counter and defeat us every week. I just can't see us getting anywhere with a manager who is so unwilling ( or unable ) to adapt, also-far be it from Captain Clueless here to criticise him but he seems unable to fine tune a game with timely, appropriate substituions-if either of these two traits were taken a bit further we'd be in Conteland.

I question why the football is getting worse when Ange has full weeks of training with the players? Next season, he will have less time to work on tactics due to European games. The Euros and Copa America will mean shorter preseason and less time with new signings. I hope we see Spurs put teams to the sword early in the match towards the end of this season. Even under Conte, they finished strong and gave a few teams a pasting. You'd think with this attack first philosophy, we'd see that more often.
